Do I need to confirm GF suite? Get something in writing?

We are going to the GF Dec. 10 and have booked (and put deposit on) a 2 bdrm suite. When we booked the operator said it would be in the Sugar Loaf Key Concierge building.

My question is, I don't have anything in writing from Disney saying what our accomodations will be (just my reservation number). I had a nightmare last night that our group of 8 tried to check in and they told us the suite was taken and they'd offer us rooms instead.

Can this happen? Do they oversell resorts? Should I call the GF, and if so, will they send me a written confirmation that our suite will be available? If so, what # would I call?

I was the one in charge of planning the family vacation, so I want to make sure nothing falls through--it's on my head!

Thanks everyone!

Did you book a package or room only? With a package, you should get a confirmation in the mail and it would state Lodge Concierge and your room type. If you got a room only, I don't think you'll receive anything, just the reservation number that they gave you.

Here is the address for the pre-planning department at the GF. They should be able to answer any questions that you have and also offer assistance in booking priority seating, recreation, room gifts, etc.... WDWGFPlanning@disney.com .

Edited to add: A fellow DIS'er, Minniesota, just returned from a 2 bedroom suite at the GF. Here's a link to one of her posts

We've always gotten a confirmation letter about a week after booking.

Even if you booked room only you should receive a confirmation letter in the mail. It's usually about a week after that I receive mine. In fact everytime you call and change anything about your reservation you'll receive another stating Modified. If it's been at least this long and you haven't received one then I'd call to double check and ask the CM to send another one.

I have room only reservations and I've gotten a confirmation EVERY time I've called disney about the reservation, even if it was just to check and see if AP rates were available for my days (they weren't :( ) If I were the original poster I'd call and ask for a confirmation letter.
