Do I need to add my 2 year old for Magical Express and resort reservation?

Booked Animal Kingdom Lodge on Priceline and they "don't count" 2 year olds for Disney resorts so in my MDE reservation only my husband and myself appear. Do I need to add my 2 yr old so he can go on Magical Express with us? And will Disney want us to do an in-person rather than online check in so they can register him?

Yes. Without question.
They only don't count for FP and tickets.
They count for EVERYTHING else., even ADR even if they aren't eating. They need a head count for occupancy limits.

Its always nice to have a full seat for them.. not just shoved in the end on any restaurants you go to.

Just call and have the 2yo added to Magical Express and the resort reservation. Make dining reservations to include him.

You will want to add them to your reservation so that they can get a Magic Band. Most of the kids want to wear one.

If we are talking resort room occupancy then not at Disney nor many hotels. It’s based on occupancy rate codes. Many fire codes see them (children under 3) as children that would be carried during evacuation so not taking time or space during egress from the building.

Yes, at Disney. Room occupancy is equal to X, with allowance for ONE child under 3 above that number. Which is to say that if a couple showed up with 2-year-old triplets, they could sleep in an occupancy 4 unit, but if they showed with octuplets, they would have a problem. Or, rather, 3 problems. (Or 8, because octuplets, ow.)

Well, Disney DOES want them counted. That's why there's a space to enter them in to MDE.
