Do I need jackets next week?

I am packing for our upcoming trip, we leave one week from today.

I have two kids 5.5 & 2.5.

I am packing a few pairs of pants, few pairs of shorts, and t-shirts. Do I need a lightweight jacket in the evening in September? We've always gone in February - so I am out of my packing element with this September trip!! (But still super happy to be going!!!! )

I would say no, Im going next week as well, and Im from NW florida , the average highs are gonna be 90° in the day and the low 70° at night. id say you wouldnt need it. Im packing , shorts, tanks and t-shirts

We'll be wearing light jackets in the car on the way there. I didn't pack any long pants either, except for what we wear there. If it's 70 at night that is still warm esp if it is humid.

We were there last year from Sept 29 to Oct 4 and never needed a jacket. It was hot and I wore short sleeve shirts, shorts and capris the whole time. I wore a light jacket inside the California Grill because of the air conditioning, but we didn't need it for outside. Have a great trip!!!

I'd take a light jacket just in case. Just a windbreaker, something light to pack. The weather there can be unpredictable. We went last December, one night i was wearing shorts and sleeveless shirt, the next night we were all in slacks, jackets and sweatshirts.

This time in 2004 we had one day when it was FREEZING! I am planning on wearing jeans and a jacket on the plane (as they get cold!) then if I need them when I'm there I can drag them out

I don't know if I'd wear jeans and jacket on the plane. Our last several flights it was warm and close on the plane. Then, when you land, its warm in the airport and you have to go through the whole process of getting bags, rent car, etc., while sweating. But you can always take the jacket off--just wear a light weight shirt, and I'd opt for shorts or capris on the plane. Another reason I don't care for long pants on the plane--think of how gross the bathroom floors get during a long flight. Unlike our male companions, we nave to lower our pants to use the toilet, and they get on the floor. I try to roll mine up, but it doesn't always work. However, a friend of mine insists on wearing a skirt on the plane so her bare back legs don't come in contact with the plane seat. Then, of course, just pull up the skirt to go. Oh, how complicated peeing is at 30000 ft!

No you will not need them. It wouldn't hurt to pack something light just in case of rain or some cool night temps.

but depending on where you are coming from--weather is still expected to be summer-like next week.

It isn't humid now--but they said on the news that the humidity will return next week. I woudln't expect humidity like in August...but definitely noticeable when you are coming from a non-humid climate.

ETA: My hubby came home from DC last weekend. He's living up there (not much longer YEAH!!). He wore jeans home...never changed when he got here and had a headache he gets when it gets too hot. I thought the weather was great and we realized...he was still wearing jeans...and he has gotten unused to Florida weather.

It is still hot and humid here. The days are in the 90's and I doubt it gets into the 70's at night. If it does, you don't notice it, since it is humid.
Shorts and T-shirts should be all you need, unless you need dinner clothes.
A sweater for a restaurant, if you are sensitive to the A/C.

We'll be there in 12 days, and I'm not planning on bringing any pants. But, I'm coming from Alaska, so it will be very warm to me! I do plan on bringing a lightweight rain coat for everyone but that's about it.

Someone else had posted AccuWeather.com site that allows for a 15 day forecast. I have been checking it everyday since we are arriving on the 30th. Looks like Mid/Upper 80s during the day with lows in the upper 60s each night.
