do i need a credit card ?

i know it says when you check in that you need to have a credit card but due to me being a complete shopaholic we dont have one ?

will that be a problem when we check in ?

I think the problem you may have if staying in a Disney property is that you will not be able to use your KTTW card for charging things back to your room, ie meals, tips, gifts etc ...

I'm not sure if it is compulsary or not to leave Credit Card details at Check In but I know in the past we have always been asked for one, even at hotels now in the UK. When we collected our car from Dollar last year they too insisted on taking a Credit Card even though we had paid in full for the car hire prior to arriving.

I seem to recall a thread a while back now were the same question was raised. I'm sure that it was suggested that the OP applied for a Fairfx card and to used that as a credit card, I maybe wrong though hopefully someone else will post with a little more guidance for you.

Jodie, assuming you are talking of Disney (POR isn't it?) I have always taken credit cards, but never used them. I am happy not to charge to my room though so when they ask if I want to register a card, I just say no thanks. Never had a problem. Many folk don't have a cc or don't want to use one for charging to the room.

Same here.

I also don't have a credit card but at Pop last year they asked if I wanted to put one down for charging to and I just said no. It wasn't a problem at all.

The first few times we went I didn't have a credit card, I gave them my debit card instead so I could use the KTTW card to buy stuff

we dont have a credit card either but always put cash down so we can charge

we dont use our fairfx card as we have heard it puts a hold on some of the money and i wouldnt want that to happen

we dont even use a credit card to hire a car either

Even if you don't plan to use a CC for charging to your room etc. it is always good to have one in case of emergencies - if you need to see a doctor or go to hospital you may have to pay first and then claim back off your insurance when you get home. Even just seeing a doctor and getting a prescription can be a couple of hundred Dollars!

Just about to say the same, always have my CC with me just incase of emergencies and also incase there is another incident like ash cloud when all planes were delayed.

we have 2 current accounts with debit cards and one of them is used for emergencies only its easier than a credit card and i have no interest to pay either lol

You dont need a credit card - we always use a debit card to charge for the room and then use the room card to buy items and then pay it off at the end of the holiday with our Fairfx card.

We dont even use a credit card for car hire. We booked with Virgin holidays last year and then went online before leaving to confirm the car and just picked up the car and went to the exit
