ok.. more nick hotel questions. Do i need a car there. I don't want to be stuck eating every meal there. are there other places w/i walking distance?
Is the shuttle service good, so maybe we can go to Downtwon disney to eat or citywalk?
Thanks

Yes, I'd think that you would want to rent a car for that location. The hotel is pretty isolated. The Marriott World Center complex is near, but I don't think I'd want to chance walking across the multi lanes to go over there. Don't know about shuttles from Nick, but just be warned that there's likely a cost per person and they run on their schedule not your's.

Definitly get a car! There is really nowhere close to walk to......the food choices at the Nick hotel were pretty limited, I think a Pizza hut and subway. They also had a buffet for breakfast and dinner, but was pretty pricey.

You need a car. As others have said, there is nothing really around there. It surprises me a bit, since we stayed there before it was the Nick Hotel about 7 years ago and then last year and the area hasn't really changed at all.

WE haev stayed there a couple of times and yes you need a car. There are things close but nothing is walking distance to the hotel. The buffet is pricey and your kids only eat free now if they are under 5. There is Pizza Hut, Subway and a coffee shop but you can only eat so much of those. I would definitely do the car thing. That way you are not at the mercy of the shuttles which can be inconvenient too.

If you don't spend the day at the hotel and just go to the parks, eat there.
The shuttles are FREE and run every hour. I thought catching one back would be worse. It was fine. They go to all 4 Dis parks and Universal. You don't have to make a lot of stops either. Each bus either goes to 1 or 2 places. Not all 5! Thank goodness.
The Nick hotel is fun, but the highlight of the day is when they dump the slime bucket at 4:45. ONCE. It cuts into your day if the kids really want to see this. But you only need to see this ONCE!!!

OMG, we had to do this every day we were there. It was the highlight of the kid's day. Afterall, isn't that what it is all about. We did parks in the AM and then hit the pool (it was August) for the afternoon and if we wanted to we headed back to the parks at night. The sliming was their favorite thing!
