Staying at RPR later this month, will be driving my own car to the resort, will park when we get there and will NOT be leaving until after check-out. Do they ask you if you have a car in the lot? what if you tell them no?

Guest staying at all the on-site hotels have to pay a parking fee if you have a car. Self parking is cheaper than using valet. There will be a per night charge. We usually valet at the HRH but if I remember, the self parking has a gate so it probably would take your room key to open thus triggering the computer system to know you have a car and will charge. Even if there is no gate, I would never consider not paying the fee - you will probably go out to get the car and it will have been towed and then cost you much more than paying the fee. Not for anything, if you are traveling with kids and try to get around the system what would that be teaching them. My theory is if I can't afford the parking fee, after booking a trip to stay on-site, then I shouldn't be staying on-site or have waited until I saved more money. I personally don't want to go on vacation and have to scrimp and worry about the little extras that come up.

You need to use your key to activate the gate to the parking lot. Not sure if it will let you out if you lie and say you have no car.

They will ask you upon check-in if you have a car. Do you really want to worry the whole time you are on vacation if your car is still there?

I agree with Francie, if I am going to stay somewhere as nice as there I will not scrimp, if I can afford to stay on site I can afford to pay parking.

compared to chicago hotel parking, loew's hotel parking fees are cheap.

much better than the $45 a night you would have up here for downtown hotels.

when i did rent a car in orlando, i factored in the parking fee price when i was planning my expenses for the trip.
my rental car never left the lot until it was time for me to check out and go to MCO.

i thought the fee was reasonable.

op, the parking fees occur at midnight.

on the day you check out, you won't be paying for that day's fee.
(as long as you are out of the lot by 11:59 pm)

Yes I would tell them! If you park in the hotel parking you need a key card. If you park in the overflow/convention parking you still need a key card to get out. If hotel security notices a vehicle "abandon" in their convention parking it may cause quite a stir (remember the security measures they take for an "abandon" bag, I can't imagine the potential if thoughts turn to car bomb!).

OK, Got it! Wouldn't want to take a chance so will gladly tell them I have a car, thanks for your responses.
