We have 5 cats and 3 dogs, all inside. I love all of my furbabies, but we probably should have stopped about 3 animals ago. Sometimes it just gets to be a little much.
So today, DD17 calls me at work. Our next door neighbor, who has at least 8 cats (I've lost count) and 2 dogs, had found a box with 5 scrawny, dirty puppies in her neighbor's driveway. Sadly, one got away when she opened the box and even though she, my DD and DD's BF looked all over, they never found him. She wanted us to take the remaining puppies in until we could get them nourished and cleaned up. Of course, I agreed. Luckily, another animal lover decided she would take them. Phew, I'm off the hook.
Well, I get home from work about 7:30pm and what do I find? Why, a kitten eating out of our other cats bowl. My neighbor had heard a meowing in her back yard and there was this kitten. The temp is supposed to be down to 28 tonight so she couldn't stay outside and her father, who's 95 and lives with her, put his foot down. So, naturally, she brings the kitten here.
She is beautiful and so, so sweet. We feel like she must belong to someone around here because she looks well taken care of, although she was very, very hungry. Anyway, tomorrow DD16 and our neighbor are going to put flyers up and see if anyone will claim her. If not, we'll probably take her to Pals for Paws to see if they'll find her a home.
I just have to keep telling myself, "NO, NO, NO, YOU CAN'T KEEP HER!!!"
