Do I have any HOPE in DEC??? YIKES HELP!

I booked in January for our normal 2BD first week in Dec. at our home VWL.... plans have needed to change and I cancelled that with plans to book 12/6 - 12/13....

We bought plane tickets for us 4, plus grandparents. I thought, well maybe we'll end up at OKW or have to do 1bd + studio... NOPE
The entire DVC properties are booked.... I eked out 2 1bdrm for Saturday only.....

I am in a PANIC... on the phone right now on hold while the operator puts me on Waitlist....

I'm banking on all your experiences out there -- do I have any HOPE of things opening up OR did I just bow $1300 and will need to find something in Jan/Feb.?????

I have been on the waitlist for a studio at OKW since the 7th month mark for 12/4-12/8. I have the two middle days, but still haven't gotten the 12/4 or 12/7.

There is a Dec. waitlist thread you can check out. Also, waitlist for the days individually. You will have a better chance getting them.

I just gave up two days in Dec in a 1BR at SSR. The dates I gave up are for the nights of 12/7 and 12/12. I am hoping someone else who really needs those dates gets a happy surprise soon.

I think the more flexible you are the better your chances for not throwing away $1,300.00. I am sure you know but wait list for every resort and even be willing to move around if you have to..better than nothing!

I hope you get some pixie dust and everything goes well for you...

I am waitlisted for 18 combinations of 2Bd. But am concerned that the waitlist process will only book if the whole 7 days is available....

I guess my best course of action is to leave on waitlist and call periodically to try and piece together other nights?

I've been on the waitlist since March for just one night of a two bedroom at AKV (Dec 2) and it has NOT come through. I have a one bedroom booked for 5 of us but would prefer the space of a two bedroom.

Wilderness Villas are very small so the chance of you getting a two bedroom there during the very busy time of Dec are slim to none. Sorry.

As an added insurance policy - I have reserved a Marriott Vacation Club 2bd villa using some of my Marriott rewards points.... (150K of them to be exact).

Have no idea if your waitlist will come through in any form. I've been waitlisted for Nov 29 - Dec 2 for a 1Br at BCV since the 7 month mark and nothing yet.

Your options if it doesn't come through?



You could always move your Disney trip to a later date when you can get DVC and change your airline tickets. It would cost you change fees, but at least the tickets wouldn't be useless.

UGH! I would have loved to rent your reservation for the first week of December! You made someone on the waitlist a very happy camper when you had to cancel!

I'm glad you have a back-up plan. Would you consider using your points to stay at one of the other Disney resorts? Meaning from the Disney Collection: Poly, Contemporary, etc? Just a thought. I know the points are pretty high, and they aren't even close to being a villa, but if you wanted to be on property, it could be a way to go.

Renting points is very easy. Transferring them is even easier. Take a look at the rent/trade board and you will see pretty much how things work. A transfer relieves you of any hassles. You just transfer the points from your account to another member and they send you cash. Done.

p.s. I have a two bedroom booked at VWL for 12/3 through 12/7 and have no intention of canceling so that's one down...
