So here i was playing on here everyday until my DH said, "Sorry hun' no DL in Feb - let's do the Bahamas!" Ick. Months passed....

Bahamas are now out (YES!) & DL is a big maybe, still thinking if it happens, it will be in February. I LOOOOVE DL in the winter.

Here's the fun part. We're going to the beach for a week - NEXT week!! Actually found a last minute rental & we're all excited. We'll be staying in Laguna Beach.

Do we drive to Anaheim for the day for a day of DL, waiting in possible heat & lines & crowds?

Or do we wait until February when we can MAYBE go for 3-4 days & do it right?:confused3

Why not? You 'are' close enough. Years ago my bil was in Santa Ana for 2 weeks. I told him "Head up the 5 on a day off". Did he take my advice? Noooo, didn't want to upset his son if he found out.

That could be fun! We normally do summers and did one day in the winter! I actually like the summer better. Something about hot weather that just reminds me of DLR. :goodvibes As for crowds, I've never felt they were bad. They were not nearly as bad as the one day I went in the winter. :scared1: If you just have in your head that there are some main rides you want to get on, and don't worry about "missing" something, then it would be fun. Use FPs and you should be able to get on a lot of rides. :thumbsup2

I'd go for it. The lines weren't that bad. It seemed a lot like the day we went in May with dh. I thought it would be crowded, but apparently that won't happen until all of the APs get the blackouts lifted.

Go for it I say ~ we were in San Diego last week and visited DLR on Wed. the 15th. We had a blast, I'd go for a non MM day if I were you and get there early. We got a lot done between 8am and 1pm. We completed the Trifecta as well!

Well i guess i have to disagree with everyone here and say i would wait for Feb., thats usually my favorite month to go anyways, it's alot cooler and you'll have more days to just take your time and not rush and try and cram everything in one day...you'll have fun whichever you choose....

There are no long lines right now, literally. This has been the slowest summer in years. It's going to be more crowded in late August and September when SoCal AP holders can get back in.

If it will nullify any chance of going in February for a few days don't but if it has no bearing on future plans by all means go!

My vote is to go and visit Dl. if the trip will be a convenient one during your vacation.
Most definitely, Fast Passes, Fast Passes, Fast Passes........... collect them throughout the day for the rides that have them available at the time, and use them when it is a good idea to do so. I have a sneaking suspicion though that you probably already know that. In which case, it is just a reminder. :)

Rats! If this is true, my ONE day in the park on the last week of August will be more crowded.

Nope I agree to :) wait when its least busy.

If a one day trip in August means no trip in February, then I would not do an Aug one day trip. However, if you will also get to go in February, then by all means go go go.

I would go with the intent to have a different sort of experience over your February trip.

You can see Magical which won't be running in February. You can see the Electrical Parade which won't be running either.

If you are a DL vet, you know how to use fastpass so even on a crowded summer day, you may very well have few lines to contend with. Crowds yes, since the walkways will be crowded. But I have been to DL on some very crowded days, in the heat, and have found myself not waiting much and having a wonderful time.

Uncrowded, offseason visits are great. But they come with a pricetag, usually in the form of reduced hours, shows, and parades and ride rehabs. If you go now, you can experience some things that won't be available in February. And if that trip for whatever reason doesn't happen, you may really regret not going this summer.

I so totaly agree.
