Do I get the early return flight or pay $100/pp more

I need to book our flights for our March cruise. The best rate I can get has a return flight leaving MCO at 10:55. Is this too early?

Or should I bite the bullet and pay $100/pp more = $400 more total for a flight leaving at 1:15pm?

I've read that you shouldn't book a flight before 11 am. 10:55 is basically 11 but I'm worried about not making the flight since we are booking our own transportation.

I (party of one) have had sit down breakfast, walked off the ship, claimed my luggage and been waiting for the Hertz shuttle by 7:45 am twice. I was at the rental car desk when it opened and back by the Orlando airport around 9am. It can be done but you can't waist time. Depending on which airline you are flying you may be able to check luggage at the DCL terminal but there will be lines there too if you are not one of the first off the ship.

March is spring break time for Florida so the airport could be busy and the wait at security and baggage check could hold you up a little longer than normal.

With those considerations it should help you make your decision.

Happy cruising. Wish I was going again soon

On my cruise this past September, debarkation was delayed due to security measures, so you might be pushing it. One possibility that no one has addressed is insurance that covers the flights. Cruise insurance has been mentioned, but what about getting insurance that covers this sort of flight delay along with the cruise? If you are delayed, the insurance should be able to cover any type of additonal fees etc. (read the fine print or ask specifically). The only thing to be concerned about would be full flights. If it is spring break, it might be hard to get the next flight out even though you wouldn't have to pay extra, could you waste a few hours or even overnight?
