We'll be staying at HoJo's for the first time next week and I KNOW the kids (ages 5 and 8) are going to go crazy when they see the new pool area. Are the pools at HoJo's heated? Is anyone swimming this time of year or am I crazy to even consider it?!

Howdy,

I haven't tried HoJo yet,

but last January my DD wanted to go swimming.
We were at Portofino,
it was her birthday,
and DH said he would take her,
so ok.

They came back (all smiles)
"It was like bath water! Even warm enough for you Mommy!" :rotfl2:

My mom couldn't resist
so back they went to the pool.
She was glad to have packed her suit
"just in case"

Enjoy your trip!

My DH's first rule of travel: "Always pack a swimsuit." Because you just never know. You might have unseasonably warm weather.

Cute story: DD13 and I didn't use the pool at HoJo in October, just the hot tub, but it is right next to the water playground. So there were some other kids in the hot tub; a pair of twin boys who were 11, and a 12 y.o. boy. All kinda cute. They were waiting for the bucket to dump, which it does about every 5 minutes; you can tell because the bell above it starts ringing faster and faster. Then they'd dash out of the hot tub and jump under the deluge, yelling and screaming. On about the third or fourth foray, they asked DD to come with, and to my surprise, she did. Then she got me to do it it, too, the next time. The other adults in the hot tub probably thought I was crazy, but it was fun.

I would pack a swimsuit.

1. It's small.
2. Hot tub

If you are wondering about a heated pool, though, a quick call to the hotel would give you your answer. :wizard:

Hmmm, I think the pool might be heated but I don't know, we don't generally swim in the off season. Peak season we do because we have blackout dates but not off season. I still take a suit tho, you never know what the weather might be and there is the hot tub. :)

We always swim when we go to DL, even in the winter months. We had some very warm days a few years ago when we went in February so I was very glad I took the swim suits! I would be shocked if the Hojo's pool wasn't heated. If its open year round, its heated I am thinking. Pack the suits, maybe hide them so the kids can 't see them so if you decide against it, you can say "sorry guys, no swimsuits!"

The pool is heated and of course the hot tub, but the new play area is not, the water is cold. Hope this helps.

My girlfriend is down there with her kids right now (they flew down today), and she said the temp (air temp) is pretty warm.....maybe 70-75 degrees. She's sitting by the pool in shorts and a t-shirt, and she's perfectly comfortable.

So I would pack swim suits, just in case when you get there, it's also warm enough to go swimming.

If anything though, you could always use the hot tub, even in chilly weather, although getting out maybe a bit.......painful.:goodvibes

The pool is definitely heated, and there are loads of people playing at Castaway Cove right now!

Definitely back them- just in case! I'll keep my fingers crossed that the weather stays warm enough for you guys! :goodvibes

It's 5:00pm right now and kids are still in the play area. Weather was great the las few day and our girls did get a chance to enjoy the pool area.:cool1:

The only sad thing is we depart for home at 4:20 am Wednesday to the chilly North west. :confused3

we will be at Hojo's next week too and my kids will so into swimming regardless of the weather.

Yay! Excellent news. Suitcases are packed, and fingers are crossed the weather holds out!! Thank you so much for all the replies - just what I needed to know!!

4:20 AM???? You poor thing!!!!!

Per a PP - it is unseasonably warm in the L.A. Metro area this week. Not sure if it will continue into next week but I would definately pack a swimsuit!!

We aren't at HoJo, but my kids have been in our pool at Homewood Suites (about a mile from the park) for the last week and a half (even when it was colder outside). We spent over an hour out there today, I was in shorts & tshirt in the sun while the kids swam. The pool is too cold for me, but I've seen several adults and a TON of kids in it, and the hot tub is GREAT (I have gone in it!).
