Do I check in at the hotel for the cruise?

Ok, stupid questions are following I am sure-
We have the land/sea booked. Do we check in at the hotel and not again at the port, or does the hotel check-in just expedite the port check-in? We cruised a few years ago, but I can't remember!

Also, we booked a separate stay prior to the cruise package and will be at the BCV, do I need to go to the Poly(which is where we stay with our land/sea package) prior to park opening to get our hopper tickets, or does the cruise desk (that I saw on our last trip at most hotels) allow us to check into the Poly from BCV?

TIA!!

I'm confused.

Are you staying at BCV then Poly and then cruising? If so, when you check in at the Poly, you're automatically checked in for the cruise and your Poly KTTW card will open your stateroom on the ship.

Hi mousefanmom--

You do check in at your hotel and not again at the port. You still need to take birth certificate, etc. with you in case, but they issued our KTTW card at check-in at the hotel, and that is what you show when you get to the port. We never had to get out our birth certificates again!

When you get to the port, you go through security and then walk right to the end of the terminal to get in line to get on the boat! You do, of course, still need a picture ID with you and your KTTW card--everyone does.

As for the hotel, you do have to go to the hotel that has your package (Poly I think you said) to get your passes for the parks. We stayed at the All-Stars one night before checking in at AK for our package, and we had to go there early in the morning. If you do it the night before, it takes one of your pass days. (The pass includes park admission for the day you leave for the cruise; if you aren't going to the parks that last morning, I would think you could get your passes the day before your package and even go to the parks that night if you want, even though from a different hotel. But either way, you have to go to the hotel where your package is.)

Did I help or confuse you more!!!!

We are also doing land and sea, we don't leave though from Floriday until late the evening that we dock, so I didn't know if our hopper would still be good for that day... does anyone know? I'm learning so much here!

Oh, that was helpful. We probably won't go to the parks the day that we leave for the cruise, so it might be nice to use the tickets the night before the package officially starts.
Thanks for the replies!

Yes, BCV, then Poly then cruise. So we will probably check in at Poly early on the morning that our package starts, even before checking out of BCV, I will probably run over and get everything settled.
Thanks for the reply!

Jeannief-- the hoppers are length of stay passes, so they expire on midnight of the day that you get on the boat! Sorry--at least that is the way they worked for us in Oct.; maybe the new 2005 passes are different!

Good luck!

thanks Amy- that's what I thought but just wanted to check. We may just do the beach thing that day if we find one close to the boat since our flight is late that day.
