My 4 month old will be sitting on my lap in the airplane, we aren't renting a car, and my stroller doesn't have an attachment for then car seat. Do I even bother bringing it? I'll have my double stroller and an infant carrier with me.

For our #3's 1st trip, he was 4 months old and we flew. We didn't bring his car seat because we weren't renting a car and didn't have the need for it. Just another thing to lug around. I just wore him. We're going in January and our baby will be 7 months old and we're flying and again not bringing the car seat. If there's no reason for it...than don't bring it.

Is getting your 4 month old a seat on the plane an option at all? I only ask because we opted to have our 3 month old as a "lap child" back in April, and it was super stressful. We had some turbulence along the way and I was sooooo nervous during the entire 3 hour trip.

We are not taking that chance for our upcoming April trip and I bought him a seat. He will be secured in his car seat. Sucks to bring extra stuff, but his safety is worth it to me.

We flew very minimally when our girls were babies, so I must have forgotten how sucky it is to have the "lap child" for a 3 hour flight. Never again.

Don't bring it. With a 4 month old you're already bringing everything but the kitchen sink. Why add to it?

That's exactly what I was thinking, especially because I have 2 other toddlers to pack for. Thanks!

I agree. The best advice we got for flying with our 8 month old was to buy her a seat. She fell asleep on the plane and DH and I were able to relax in a way that wouldn't have been possible if she were a lap child. Plus just having the extra space was nice. It was well worth the price of the seat.

I think you're right to not bring it. It sounds like you'll just be lugging it around everywhere. We recently went with a 13 month old, we did not bring his carseat and I never missed it (he was a lap baby too). Especially at 4 months, that baby is just going to want to be snuggled anyway! If your stroller had a carseat adapter and/or you have a seat it would be a good thing because maybe they could take some naps there and it would be worth it to give yourself a break, but based on how it sounds like you'll be traveling - I hope your carrier is comfy!
