Do have to make a PS for this?

If we decided while at MGM, to just wing it and try to walk in and eat dinner say at HW & Vine, would you get a voucher for the seating at Fantasmic or is this ONLY for people who made a PS prior to coming in to dine? (I realize not making a PS could mean waiting and waiting to be seated).

I really hate to make the commitment of the PS because we just never seem to stick to a schedule.

TIA,
Lori :D

whoops! just realized this wasn't Disney Restaurants - how do I move this post? sorry...help! thanks.

I believe that you MUST have a PS specifically for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. There are only a limited number of seats in the reserved section. Therefore not EVERYBODY who eats at MGM restaurants at dinner time can get the vouchers. I would suggest the PS if you want to be sure to get the special seating.

BTW, the buffet at H&V is fantastic!!!! It's worth sticking to a schedule for, especially when combined with Fantasmic!

Hello neighbor!

thanks for replying...yes, I know I should do the PS, but since we're going the week following Easter, I just don't know which weekday would be the best day to go and make the PS for...it's really stressing me out since we've never seen Fantasmic!

Do you know what the cancellation policy is?

thanks!

p.s. just thought about this too...

what if the park closes due to capacity and you've made PS?

You can make the PS the same day you plan to go to Fantasmic - just go to Guest Services when you enter the park. Since you are visiting the week after Easter, there may be limited availability, but I still think you will be able to get a time & restaurant for the dinner package. Good luck!

Thank you Carol - I think we'll need the luck from what I'm hearing

If the park closes due to capacity and you have a PS, I think they'll still let you in.... they want your $.

They have not (in the past) asked to hold this PS with a credit card, so if you don't show for your PS, you don't show and they give the table to someone else. We actually did this at H&V (overslept for breakfast). I'm sure they count on a certain predicted number of no shows for each seating.

Right now the current Fantasmic Dinner Package is a prepaid deal. They do require a credit card when you make the reservation. This is a "trial" that will go until at least the end of February. Perhaps it will return to the "old way" after the trial.

FWIW, I have never heard/read of the Studios closing for capacity. I think the chances of it doing so the week after Easter are very small, but that's JMHO, of course.
