Do front load washers shake more than top load?

We are getting an upstairs laundry in the new house and are worried that the front loaders shake too much for upstairs.

What is your experience.

My experience is FL are a lot less. MY TL always used to walk, but my FL once it gets going doesn't move. I do have a llarge one 3.8 LG and it is fast too(spinning).

I have had my front loader for almost 7 years now. For the first 3 years I owned it, it was in an upstairs laundry room. Never had any problems with it walking. It has been a purchase that I will never regret. You can really load it up full with clothes and does a great job.

Ours does not shake at all. In fact you hardly know it's running.

I have a Whirlpool Duet (LOVE IT!) and it doesn't shake at all. It sounds like a jet engine when it's winding down from a vigorous spin though.... but it only lasts a few seconds.

Front Loaders vibrate when there isn't any foundation under it. I work in Appliances as an Expert for Best Buy. This can be minimized by placing them on a pedistal or by placing them on the first floor if you dont have solid foundations on the second floor of a house. They are so much better for your clothes both in wear and cleaniliness than TL.

We have a front loader it does shake quite a bit, but I would not trade it. I love it.
