Do DVC studios still have vacuums?

If there is a microwave in a hotel room, my kids will find a way to have popcorn in it and they are very much slobs when it comes to popcorn on hotel room floors. I'm also just a neat freak in hotel rooms even when there is full service housekeeping.

I have taken to traveling with a camping broom when we fly and a mini vacuum when we drive. My Dyson mini vacuum is too big for luggage, and we are flying this trip so I'm actually considering a cheap handheld vacuum to toss into my luggage if DVC studios don't have vacuums.

FWIW, we are staying at Poly, Boardwalk, and BLT, all in studios.

Thanks!

We just recently stayed at boardwalk and gf in a studio. I don’t remember seeing a vacuum in either but I might have missed it

I've stayed Poly and Beach Club since Covid and didn't see one.

There was a Beach Club closet I guess it could have been in, but def not one at the Poly studios.

I guess you could ask for one, but I doubt they would do this. They even took out the travel crib after Covid.

Travel with a extended family and we too need the vacuum. Had to ask for a vacuum on a few of our recent trips, housekeeping always brought one!
Missing maybe because of covid, one less item to clean :confused3

Thanks, all! I went ahead and bought a small hand vac that was on clearance at Target for $15. Super light and small enough to slip into my luggage without taking up a ton of space.

We haven't stayed in a DVC villa since last May and we noticed a lot fewer cleaning items available in the closets (brooms, mops, vacuums). And no pack and plays either.

I agree, I don't understand why they've been removed, especially when there's no daily housekeeping. We were in a CCV 1 bed in August and just wanted a broom to sweep up after cooking/eating...no broom/dustpan.

I'm in a Beach Club studio. There's a vacuum, but no cleaning products except the dishsoap.

If you ask for the items, they will bring them to your room. No high chair either. Many times these items were never used and with the ‘enhanced’ cleaning they have to do, guess it takes less time....they would have to clean them regardless.
As for cleaning products in studios...I’ve only ever had dish soap. Once in a while I’ll get lucky and find a little bottle of laundry detergent under the sink....which can be tricky because it looks exactly like the dish soap.
FYI in case anyone is interested in a housekeeping position at the resorts, they are having a job fair next week.....housekeeping starts at $17/hour plus a $1,000 signing bonus. You may also be eligible for 100% tuition reimbursement. Hopefully this will help bolster up the forces.

Sorry to hijack this thread but kinda relevant

Do the Vacuums in DVC have a hose on them so you can use them for Vacuum packing clothes in the airtight bags you can buy?

Im trying to think of clever ways to allow me more luggage space for my return flight.

The vacuum cleaners are the upright type, so far as DH and I can remember. You might consider getting some of the roll-up vacuum bags - that’s what we use for packing dirty clothes for the trip home, and they really work well especially if you roll them up on a firm surface like a counter top (although we use the bed, mostly!).
