I saw that the hotel rooms have been changed to beverage coolers. I am staying in a studio at AKL in the fall, for my first solo trip and was counting on a mini fridge.
A lot of people are going to disagree, but I'll say my piece.
A mini fridge and a beverage cooler are the exact same thing, except the mini fridge has a compressor that is going to hum and rattle all night and keep you awake. You're not going to end up with spoiled dairy of you leave milk in a beverage cooler for a week.

The beverage cooler at VGF has a glass front and only shelves...no compartments on the door and they only go to 41 degrees. Whether or not they will cause milk to spoil? Don't know but they are not the same as what you find in the other studios. It doesn't seem as though they will hold the same amount given there is no door storage and it doesn't appear that the shelves come out so everything will be laying down.
But food should be kept no higher than 40. If they do switch, I'd probably add a double bagged bag of ice to the cooler to lower the temp.
It seems to me someone about 6 months ago posted a picture of one in a studio and it looked like a toy compared to the mini fridge. They called and got it switched out to a mini fridge.
