Do DVC members get free dining plan this year?

Hi

I was reading on moussavers and it mentioned that dining plan was available now to DVC members. Did anyone get the free dining plan that was on offer from Aug-Sep? This would be interesting. I am buying AKL DVC in Dec. I really want to go back next year, but dh said that it would be tight. If there was free dining then I know that my dh will jump to the chance. Having said that we would have a kitchen so we could always cook to cut down on food and drink. It would be for a week.

as mikki.young says DVC can buy DDP,and you dont have to buy any park tickets to get it,has to corispont to number of nights on resevation.If doing a split stay you can add it to both or one.As stated unable to get free ddp as dvc stays not packages

I wasnt sure if my children would eat as much as it would cost a child. How much is it for children? $38.99 is good for what you get considering some places charge that for dinner anyway.

Actually that is incorrect. DVC members do not get a discount on the price of the DDP and the price for 2008 is $37.99 for age 10 and over, I believe.

DP would cost arounf £650 GBP (for a family of 4 thats 3 Adults and one child (our daughter is 13) at the curent exchange rate....considering that some character meals can run around $120 -$150..it's worth it

We have only just bought DVC at SSR so will buy DDP for 2008...this year we stayed on property at Pop Century and had DDP (free) and when I returned to the UK and worked how much it would have cost US to eat how we did (lots and often!!) it works out that we are only paying for our evening meal and that Breakfast and Lunch and some snacks are free.

If you need to put a cost to it IMHO we are saving around £450 GBP for a 2week trip. For us we wouldn't miss booking DDP now as we can eat where we want and when (when using ADR s) we want and we do not really worry about the cost of each meal.

If your DD is 13 then she will have to pay the adult price for the DDP as kids 10 and over are classed as an adult.

... and don't forget that next year you are getting less for your money.... no tip or starter.

I appreciate when it's free, it's still not costing you anything! But if you are paying this can make a difference to a decision whether to buy or not.

Us too (though youngest DD will still count as a child, oldest DD won't eat anywhere near enough to jusify the cost.)
