Do DisneyStore employees get cast member benefits?

Just curious...I sell real estate, but with this slow market, I am thinking of taking a part-time job. I'd love to get something Disney related, so as to get discounts for our trip. I may apply at World of Disney in NYC, since they are hiring and def give cast member benefits, but if I can get something closer, like say, the mall, then I'd rather do that. Are there any CM benefits to the mall stores?

A few years ago they got limited benefits - comp passes to the theme parks and store discounts but no resort discounts. Then the Disney Store was sold to the company that also owns The Childrens Place and the perks stopped. The Disney Store was recently sold back to the Walt Disney Company but I don't know if the CM benefits have been restored. Maybe someone currently working at a Disney Store can chime in?

We do get CM benefits-limited tickets, room discounts and table service discounts. Don't apply just for the discounts though. You need to have a love of Disney and the ability to create magic for all the guests coming in, it's not as easy as it sounds!

Definitly do not apply just for the "benifits". You might not get any benifits depending on how your employment is classified . P/T and F/T and managers get "benifits".If you are "seasonal" or "casual" you get nothing extra. You will never work so hard. Retail is stressfull. The hours are not great. Some weeks I would work 20 hours and some I would only work 3. You have to be very flexible and be able to be called in if needed.
Even with the perks after six months I could not do it as a "second" job. I was burnt out. I was working seven days a week trying to do both. I loved working there but since there was no guarentee in the paycheck I had to go back to being a customer.

I worked at The Disney Store for about three years (about 6 years ago) and we got store discounts, some comp tickets, discounts on park tickets, resorts, and dining. I also got in free at the gate with my CM id. I agree with the pp who said that it is a LOT of work. I also HATED the whole "on-call" thing. You were not guarenteed the hours but you had to be ready to drop everything to come in "if" they needed you. That is ultimately why I finally quit.... Also all the pressure to "sell sell sell" really turned me off to Disney for a while....but now I'm back to Disney again so that didn't last long!! I also spent MORE there than I made so it was kinda pointless....
