Do Disney Restaurants ask for ID?

So this seems like a silly question, but do Disney Restaurants ask for ID when ordering alcoholic beverages? I am 30, but look very young for my age and am always carded. I am wordering if I will need to bring my ID with me everywhere I dine, or will my magicband will be sufficient to prove my age. I do not like carrying a bag at Disney, and one of the major benefits of magicbands to me is that I do not need to carry a wallet. Thanks!

This has come up before and I can't fathom why any adult would travel without photo ID. I was taught that this is just something you do, in case of an emergency, along with presentable undies lol. is it possible to get a phone case that carries a couple of cards so you can stick your photo id, a credit card and a $20 bill in it? This is my go-to "will not leave the house without" minimal carry. Something could go wrong with your magic band, something could go wrong with your card attached to your magic band (people occasionally have rejected charges on their credit card when the resort attempts to chargeback to your card) and it could blow a big hole in your day without backup.

You are still supposed to carry your photo ID. Back when the only had the room key card for charging and for opening your room, they expect you to still carry your ID. Without it, how can you truly prove you are the person you say you are. You could find a Magic Band on the ground somewhere.

my husband and I are both under 30 and we get carded often. You don't need to carry a wallet, just stick your ID in your pocket.

Magicbands do not constitute ID, since there is nothing that prevents you from swapping the band to someone else. Photo ID is required to order alcoholic beverages.

I should also add that it has been a while since I've been ID'd. I think I have this single mom "do not cross me" vibe that makes me seem ancient, lol. or maybe I just really am!

I too was taught to always carry an ID no matter where I was going. Magic Bands to my knowledge cannot "prove" your age. So yes. Please take your ID with you or you will be refused service of alcoholic beverages if asked for it.

I work weekends (at times) as a bartender at a restaurant here in the Dr. Phillips (Orlando) area and we are required to ID everybody. Even those who look no where near 21 years old.

Safest bet, just take your ID to avoid any situations.

You will get carded. Last trip we got carded all the time, and once my friend didn't have his. He figured his Magic Band would be enough, but it is not an acceptable form of ID.

That is what I was taught.

In addition, nowadays, I also carry my insurance card. Especially if I am going to be out and about all day.

I always carry ID, insurance card, and a back up credit card
Of course at Disney, I also have to have my AP card and TiW card (which both require photo ID to be presented)

On our last trip, we had the club level person set up room charging...well, we went to buy a drink and the magic band did not work...said we were over the limit. I could not imagine what limit (my credit card was not near the limit and we had *just* arrived so we weren't at room charging limit)...turns out the resort had accidentally set my charge limit to $0...luckily I still had everything with me because we hadn't actually gotten to our room yet.

you know, I carry a small purse with me (mini hipster) with a few cards and some cash and now that you mention it, I also carry insurance cards with me. Traveling solo with my little guy if god forbid there is an emergency i will not have opportunity to go back to the room and get it. This is a very good idea, I think I was already doing it when at Disney but it is not on my "minimum carry list". it should be though.

Magic bands may not work 100% of the time everywhere. Reported glitches seem to be trending down but if their computer systems go down you are not paying for anything without a backup.

You absolutely could be carded. Bring your ID.

And your insurance card. You never know when a day might end at the er. And while they say that we are treated even if we don't have insurance they sure can be a pain about wanting your info until they get it.

Also a cc.

Also cash.

Also TIW when we have it (and they can ID for that too).

I carry everything I previously carried. And now also have a MB sometimes on my wrist bit often in my purse. (Not into wearing plastic bracelets as an adult)

I'm 38 and was carded at the pool bar at BWV. The bartender needed my ID even though I was with my mother and 15 year old daughter. I had to go back up to the room to get it. No big deal, she was just doing her job. At the time it didn't even occur to me to bring it down to the pool. I do carry it in the parks.

How do you judge age? At what magical point are you obviously over 21? Many places/states have a strict we card everyone policy. No muss, no fuss.
lol I stopped getting carded after becoming a mother. I realize you can be a mother very young but I think it aged me ;)

I'm with you, OP....stopped using a wallet years ago and generally only have my phone on me when I leave the house (even when driving). I just got out of the habit of carrying it. In over five years I think it was an issue exactly once (I was carded while with my 20 year old daughter - but the manager came by and overruled the waitress). Drinking's not that important to me so I don't need it at restaurants but if you plan to drink, better stick in your pocket (or bra?).

FYI for those who are NOT American, they will NOT accept your drivers license as ID. You will need to have your passport with you. Stupid, but true.

Almost, but not quite true. They will accept a color photocopy of your passport ID page, in addition to your DL.
