Do Disney Resorts REQUIRE a credit card imprint?

What do the Disney resorts require by way of a deposit or credit card at check-in? I am thinking in particular of BWV. In particular, if I have other people staying with me, is there a way to prevent or limit them from charging meals and such to the room? I know that I can request that the room keys not have charging privileges, but I'm wondering if there is a way to make sure that other people in the traveling party don't get carried away and charge a bunch of meals, boat rentals, etc. to the room. (I'm not sure there is a big risk of this happening, but I want to head off problems before they occur.)

Thanks!

I never leave a credit card... my card then says transportation only on it... I don't recieve a statement under the door when I leave and have to call the front desk or check out at the front desk when leaving.

When I stay at a DVC with friends, we never leave a credit card, the keys are non-charging. We do go to the front desk to formally check out since we don't have express check-out.

Ask when you check-in -- I believe you can request that certain cards have charging privileges while others do not. That way you can retain express check-out and control access to your card.

We have always requested that only our two cards have charging priveledges and all others do not. It's never been a problem doing it that way, and we can still have express checkout.

If you are really worried about one or more of the other people in the traveling party, do not provide a credit card at check in. No one will be able to charge to the room. You will have to go to the front desk to check out.

If you are not all that worried, do as Diane suggests - leave your credit card, but get charging priviledges applied only to your card. Tell the others that you are the only person who can charge to the room. You will be able to do express check out.

Best wishes -

Hi Judy. :wave2: We always specifically tell the front desk that we do NOT want charging on the room keys. When the keys print out, they should have a line on them saying "Not valid for charging". HTH!
