our girls are both 2, we will be staying onsite, but will be flying in later than my parents, do they need to "see" them at the front desk to check in? do they need id's? or can they go right to the parks w/my parents who will have already checked in (we're all in the same room)

Shouldn't be a problem. I checked in my husband on the last trip and he wasn't coming for 3 days.

Hmmm -well, are you going during Free Dining? I think that's the only time there's a problem - for example, I've read that the front desk makes everyone check in (or that they like to see all the people listed in the reservation) and that's because they had problems with people reserving rooms with more people than actually were in the room trying to beat the system and get more free dining credits for themselves. :guilty: Disney wants to make sure there are no "ghost" guests!

As both of your girls are 2 years old they don't need to be the reservations nor will they be issued room keys. 2 year olds aren't included on the DDP.

Like this post says - You girls are technically free until they are 3 years old. They are not on any room card and they will not be charged for DDP. You should not have a problem with check-in.

Have fun on your trip!

There are people who want to eat more than the DDP offers? OMG, I would've never dreamed that was possible.

I am not sure if your girls are 2 years old or 3.
If they are 2 than hopefully you will not have a problem but if they are 3 and look 3 you may have a problem.

Some CM's question the age of young children who look 3 but who do not have a ticket. They have even been known to make the parents buy a ticket for the child/children if the parents do not have proof the child is under 3.

The money can be refunded after the parents return home and send a copy of the birth certificate.

If they are 3 and I were you I would just pay for them rather then be embarrassed that I tried to sneak them in.

Please consider this as a friendly word of caution.

thank you everyone..
1. yes i say 3 becuz "technically" they will not turn 3 until oct 11, we arrive on the 7th, i did just book the trip and when i spoke to the cm HE told me not to put them down as 3 but as 2 since technically upon arrival they will be 2. . having never done the ddp before we didnt know

2. as far as the room limit, spoke to the cm about that as well, and the age factor comes into play again, TECHNICALLY being 2 they fall into the portacrib category.

3.as far as id, cleared that up w/him as well..said even if they were adults said one person could check everyone in.

reason i want them to go ahead w/my parents is because i will be looking at property in the area that day and do not want to drag my toddlers around. but thank you LEPRECHAUN for being so concerned. you would be a great detective. your assumptions would never be accurate but never the less you seem to have fun.

and thanks to everyone else who replied and tried to help. we booked last night:banana: and will be there in oct. (now i just have to figure out how to use that ticker factory thingy!!!)

I agree that if you check in when they are 2, then they are 2 for the whole trip for purposes of tickets, food and room occupancy.

That being said, I wish you luck - 4 adults and 2 toddlers in one room is going to be quite the experience!

I am so surprised to hear that comment regarding if the child is none paying, but looks over the age they have been known to charge... My niece is a tall child and under the age of 3 even asked... we ahve gone year after year with kids for the last 13 years (6 kiddo's in the group varying ages with the youngest now this year jsut having turned 3.) NEVER have we even been asked!

Disney is a kind company in my opionion, and I have even been told by CM they will never make the customer feel that they have done something wrong. Who (traveling within the US) carries birth certificates to go to a theme park! Silly!

Back to the original question if all parties have to be present at check in - my kids are 15 and 12 and we all had to sign the back of our room keys/park cards. This was the first time I remember doing that though. Anyone else?

thank you so much for that reply..i didnt want to get into here becuz you have to be soooo specific w/certain people but my godson is a perfect example of that. hes 4 and looks like he's 7..hid dad is 6 6 and his mom is 5 10..if you didnt know for sure youd think he was lying..but seriously i think for a cm to "ask " the child their age is fine..some days they say 2 1/2 other days they say 5..so what does that prove..and seriously if it became that much of a question that i would have to pay ahead of time, then send a copy of a bc to get a refund,,that would be too much. i was gonna bring a copy anyway?? dont know why just nervous i guess, but wasnt planning on bringing it into the parks.

That is only if they have charging privileges on their cards because they are just like credit cards, which I'm sure you won't have for your two year olds! We arrived at the BCV last Friday and I checked in while my two teens sat in the lobby. They never came up to the desk. The CM gave me their cards and said to be sure to have the boys sign them right away, then handed them over to me. She did not make them sign them at the desk.
