How do ya like them letters up there in that title? DVD, DVC, VCR. CD blah blah

Anyway, just wondering if anyone knows if the DVD players also play CDs using the TV speakers?

Thanks!

I think just about any DVD player will play a standard CD. Since manufacturers of DVD players also make CD players, they don't advertise this feature.

I actually brought a CD last year along with several DVDs. I didn't try the CD but I'm sure it would have worked! May this year I'll bring my Illuminations CD and synchronize it with the fireworks.:D

Yes, DVD players usually do play CDs, but I was more concerned about the TV hookup. With my set up I have separate speakers and a receiver to play the CDs. Not sure about it just hooked up directly to the TV. I guess it would just work the same as the DVD but with a scratchy picture?

Like your countdown on TLOTR - ROTK! Can't wait, just watched FOTR again this weekend and waiting to buy the extended edition of TTT in Nov.

This doesn't really answer your question, but I found out this past weekend that the BWV DVD players will play VCDs.
