My brother in law is thinking about joining us on our next Disney trip and I was toying with the idea of bidding on skyauction for a resort (like Vistana, or Orange Lake or Silver Lake). There would be my family (me, DH, DD-12 y.o. and DD 9 y.o.) plus his family (him, sister-in-law and 2 babies - 2. y.o. and 1 y.o.). Both the babies are in cribs.

Could we bid on a place that says "sleeps 6" or do we need one that says "sleeps 8".

OK, since I had no replies here, I wrote an email to skyauction with my question.

Here is what I asked:
"Does the occupancy include infants in cribs? We have 4 adults, 2 kids (ages 9 and 12) and 2 babies under 2. Can we stay in a resort that sleeps 6 or do we need one that sleeps 8?"

Here is how they responded:

"Please go ahead and bid for the number of adults that will traveling (people over the age of 11). In the event that you win an auction, you will be directed to our online fulfillment page where you can request additional tickets for children. One of our agents will quote you a price. Please let us know if you have any other questions."

So he talks of "tickets" and I am not sure what that means. I don't want "tickets" I want a hotel room??? Do you think this means that I could bid on a place that sleeps 6? Do you think it would be extra for the babies?? I want to bid the maximum we are willing to pay, so I don't want extra charges.

:bounce: Hi again:
i bid on skyauction alot. The number that they say it sleeps gives you an idea of the bed arrangement. ie. sleeps six in a 2BR would mean two in a usually king master, 2 in twin beds in 2nd BR and 2 on pull out couch in living room. Sleep 8 would be the same except the 2nd BR would have 2 doubles and therefore could sleep 4. However, as to you question you should contact the resort in question not skyauction as it is the resort that sets the limits. Some count infants and others do not. Check to what age if not counted. You don't want to get to a resort that says it will sleep 6 and be turned away as you have 8 if only infants. I would recommend bidding on only ones that sleep 8.
