I intend to enroll on monthly DVS dues payments using a Wise account, if it still works. A question for someone who is doing that: do you have to have the money in the account already when the monthly payment goes through, or will Wise convert the money from a a balance in another currency if there aren't enough funds? I'd like to set it up and forget about it, but I wouldn't want to convert everything at once, what would be the point?

I have it set up with Wise for 2025. I can’t answer definitively, but would presume that you need to have the $$ in the U.S. account prior to the payment being requested - Wise won’t do an automatic conversion from another currency account.

I don’t mind converting everything at once, as long as the exchange rate is good, you don’t feel like you are losing out on interest! That said, there is an option to have interest paid on Wise balances now, but that opens up whole other can of worms for paying more tax on foreign interest.

I use Wise to pay my monthly dues and have done so for a long time. Wise have an option to earn interest on your $’s which maybe a good option for you. I understand that they will convert funds from other currencies to cover your monthly dues if required. Worth checking with Wise to make sure. I also use Wise when I visit Disney, great card , low fees.

Yes I have done so for years works great. I send in a standing order from my current account and wise does the rest. I do keep a small running balance as well though as I also use it for trips
