still have the in flight televisions?

The reason I am asking is that we are still scheduled (in less than two weeks) to travel on a flight that does NOT have a first class section. It is a 757 plane. I know they are changing all the planes over to make the cross-country flights have the televisions. We are coming from NY. I thought once they changed the planes over there was a first class section.

If you are in a 757 that doesn't have a first classs section, you will have the IFE.

We flew out of LGA a few weeks ago and did have the television on our flight going down and our flight coming home

YEAH....so far so good then.....

I know there is still the chance of having the plane changed but since it is 13 days away.....do you think they will?

13 days prior? It seems unlikely.

This thread gives me hope! Flying Delta (but booked on Song!) out of JFK in 2 weeks. I would love those TVs to still be there.

Flying out of JFK in 13 days!!!! Hope you get the tv's!! (Hope I do too - lol!)

You're correct; aircraft can be changed at any time. However, it seems unlikely for it to occur 13 days prior. Contrast that with 5-6 months prior, where it is very likely that there will be changes.

I may be mistaken, but I thought the planes that were changing to delta 2 class were keeping the entertainment system.

When they announced the end of Song, one of the points was supposed to be that they were going to add the entertainment feature into delta's fleet.

We flew Delta/Song on 7/15 out of Boston (Logan) and returned on 7/23. Both flights were Song planes with the individual entertainment screens.

We also flew Song last year and noticed two changes though. We paid for headphones (only $2 but last year they were free) and the bigger change was no food menu available for purchase. Last year we had a small menu with the option to buy a meal. This flight, we received a snack and drink at no charge but no option for purchasing anything else. Not a big deal to us for either one....the kids just wanted the screens!

We were nervous about the type of plane as well, especially since our flight numbers and times had been changed several times since we originally booked our trip but it went fine. Ultimately, all of the time changes brought us back to almost our original ones but the flight was full both ways.

The seat-back screens are only in some of the planes, so it is hit-or-miss with regard to whether you'll get an aircraft with them. It isn't part of the service guarantee Delta makes, so I wouldn't count on having them, and be delighted when you're lucky enough to.
