Looking at staying off-site for the first time and don't want to pay for parking at the resorts. Do any of the nearby off-site hotels have true anytime shuttles? Not busses that run once a day, or shuttles than run only a few times a day, but real shuttles than run all day based on the need.

No. The DTD hotels come close, but are not as frequent as Disney busses.

Bummer. How about shuttles that at least run mutliple times a day to accommodate those that want to leave later in the morning and come back before the parks close?

Keep in mind that parking is a daily fee of $11. If you park hop, keep your tag, and you will not be charged twice in one day.

Even with the car rental, gas, and parking fee you will always save money by staying off site if you need two rooms. You can rent gorgeous two-three bedroom condos and townhouses from $80 - $115 per night. Two rooms during value season with an AP rate code will be at least $118. If you only need one hotel room, you'll have to evaluate all the costs to determine if it is a good value. Keep in mind that you are more likely to eat more meals off site when staying offsite which can also save you money.

Hi.:thumbsup2
You can stay at one of the DownTown Disney(DTD)Resorts.
The buses here acualy goes every 30,min.:woohoo: (Every hr,in the midd day)
4,Buses will come at the same time.
1,bus to eatch park.
They leave about 10,past the hr.(7,10-7,40-8.10-8,30),and so on.

If you will save money, and use the same bus service, and NOT stay at DTD,then you can stay at One of these resorts, and walk to Best Western at DTD.
And then use the DTD bus service, from BestWestern DTD.(Just Jump On):cool1:

I stayed at LBV BW last year.

two buses to each side. the MK and AK shared a bus. Epcot and Studio shared a bus.

the epcot and studio bus is fine. but after picking up tired kids (not to mention the adults) and then having to go to AK, then finally back to the DD side - was NOT fun at all.

start to walk over to the CR and take that bus to DD and then walk back.

that say right now that bus stop (DD) is closed. they are working on the road. so the first stop is at PI.

I think you`re talking about the Disney Bus system.?
That goes from DTD,to Pleasure Island.
Then to other Disney Hotels, then You must change for a bus to the parks.
And so on.

Anyways, I was talking about the Hotel Buses, that goes to the :Buena Vista Palace, Hilton, (Holiday inn, that will newer open:laughing: ), Royal Plaza, Double Three, Best Western, And At Last, Grosvenor.
Stops at Parking Lot 27, At every park.

Anyways, it can be that they were short of buses on some days.

Roger.

yea they changed - 2 buses to each side.

MK and AK one bus

Epcot and Studio - other bus.

as I say going back and forth the MK is a pain. going is fine. but coming back is just awfully. you have to go by way of AK first, then it goes back to the DD hotels.

I would suggest walking to CR and taking their bus to the DD - but the road in front of this stop is being worked on so it is closed.

PI is the new DD first stop until the road work is complete.

And here I thought those busses were for the people actually staying at the mentioned hotels. I had no idea that just anyone could walk to a hotel and jump on. Seems to me the last time I stayed at a DD hotel, I had to pay an extra fee for "resort services" which included the bus transportation.

Just had to check. We stayed at Best Western and were charged $6.95 extra per night. Here's what is listed on the site:

"There is a $6.95 resort fee plus 12.5 percent tax per room per night

Resort fee includes:

Transportation to Disney® Theme Parks
Transportation to Downtown Disney® after 6:00 p.m.
Disney® Channel
Daily newspaper"

Seems a bit unfair to me.

I think the best option for location and park transportation are the Downtown Disney Hotels. The buses run every 30 minutes from 1 hour prior to park opening, until 2 hours after park closing. They also offer a bus to Downtown Disney Marketplace and Pleasure Island from 6pm until 3 am.

Their website has all the information http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com/buspg.html

Hi, Again.
To : inaminute

Offcause thouse buses are for the Guests that stays there.
You actually get a Bus Card at check in to your hotel, that`s supposed to be shown to the Driver.

As no one cares about seeing this card, they must care very little, about the freelouders.:rolleyes1

As for the resort fee, non of the DTD Hotels had these until 1994/95.
The Buses have always run there.
They just come up with a new way of Sucking your money out of YOU!

So Just Walk Up,and JUMP ON!!!

pretty sure that is when they switched from WDW resort buses to just the Mears buses.

WDW resort buses only ask for ID when there has been a break in at the resort. more likely to happen at the moderate or value resorts.

I'm sorry, but telling someone to stay at those and walk to real DD hotels and use their shuttles is some of the worst advice I've ever seen on these boards.

First of all, it's not allowed, second, that area is not the nicest for walking, to put it mildly. Can you imagine trying to cross that giant intersection at the Sheraton Safari, especially with little kids, at night? Can you say "road kill"??

The Sheraton Safari isn't a cheap hotel, and neither is the Orlando Vista, anyways. I am all for staying off site to save money, but in this scenario you would be WAY better off staying on Disney property in a value or even a moderate resort might be competitive with the above two hotels mentioned.

I hope that worked.
This is the bus schedule for the Royal Plaza Hotel in DTD. I choose it particularly for the bus transportation, it's affordable price (thru Mousesavers) and for the fact that it has room service;) a must for me!

I had originally booked the Sheraton Safari..but their buses are not constant AND they do not provide buses for events like MNSSHP!!!

How did you book through Mousesavers? I just tried to make a reservation and all I got was a blank screen.

While the above may be true, it doesn't make what you are advising right. I also don't think of it mas the "sucking" my money out of me. Bus transportation doesn't come free. Someone has to pick up the cost for those who have no problem using services they're not entitled to use. I look at it more as making those following the rules pay for those who don't. And, it's not not right. Personally, I'm sick of paying for the freeloaders of the world.

But, it's really none of my business whether you and others like you break the rules. As long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and live with your choices, it's not for me to worry about.

It looks like the Hotel's web site must be down. I tried both thru Mousesavers.com and thru it's home page. Why not call them and ask about the mousesavers discount? I also think they have a AAA discount.

I'm really looking forward to staying here. It looks like a great hotel in a really nice location.

edited: this site seems to be up:

Thanks Rosiep. I even got the mousesavers site to work too. Just wasn't sure I was in the right place. Looks like a really nice place.
