Do Any of You Order From EveryPlate?

If so, were you happy with the meals & variety? I'm considering ordering from them. We used to do take-out for dinner a minimum of 3 or 4 times a week, but have decided to prepare our meals at home for the foreseeable future. EveryPlate would be much cheaper than our normal grocery bill for a typical dinner. We are currently buying groceries for three & would order meals for three. DH & I can share a meal at most restaurants. DS eats more. I'm fine with adding extra vegetables or an appetizer to stretch the meals, if necessary. I'm mostly concerned with quality & variety. At their price, it seems is too good to be true. If you've ordered from their site, do you recommend them?

I used them for about a month last year. I thought they were pretty good. I didn't stick with it because I just couldn't get the deliveries timed with my days that I wanted to use them.

We've been doing Blue Apron the past couple months (skipping a week or two if the meal choices aren't appealing) and liking it.

We do everyplate once a month or so to give us some variety. We haven't had anything we didn't like (we are 2 teenage boys and me and DH). It has worked well for us ;-)

Do you have a coupon? That helped me be more willing to at least try it

I used to have hello fresh delivered to dd23 when she was studying for the CPA exams, she really liked it. Whenever I canceled I received really good coupons to start up again. I recommend trying a bunch of them.

We are having every plate delivered right now. The variety is okay. They have a lot of rice, potatoes and zucchini offerings. Overall, I am happy with the service. If you want to PM me your email address, I will send you an "invite" and you can save $20 on your 1st box. I signed up through Facebook and got a better deal, you might shop around.

We did Blue Apron several years ago and liked it a lot, but the recipes were often labor intensive with all of the chopping and prep work.

It makes meal planning easy and you know you have all of the ingredients.

On my best weeks, I meal plan on Sunday for the whole week, check my recipes, prepare my grocery list and get the shopping done. We also prepare quick breakfast meals to go, but that is about 2 or 3 hours out of my Sunday Funday and it does not always happen. Boxed meals make it a little easier...

Sorry, I'm being dense today. What did you mean by the bolded?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.

I'm glad to see it's enough for your teenage boys. Our adult DS is here working from home & taking his grad school classes online. He eats a lot. Our grocery bill has gotten crazy.

I don't have a coupon, but they're advertising a really cheap price on FB. I feel like there has to be a lot of hidden costs. I wanted to see, if anyone recommended them, before wasting time looking into it further.

Thanks. I'll check Hello Fresh out too. Honestly, the main draw to EveryPlate is the fact that we could feed our family cheaper ordering meals from them than buying groceries.

We eat a lot of rice & potatoes anyway, so that would be fine. We're still debating on whether or not to order. If we do, I'll definitely PM you. FB is advertising $3.99/plate for the first week, with $4.99 being the regular price. What are the hidden costs? Those prices really seem too good to be true.

Blue Apron sounds good. Unfortunately, I can't handle labor intensive recipes. I'm no longer physically able to stand for long periods of time. I hate it, because I used to love to cook.

Covid-19 has changed everything about how we eat. DH used to eat out for breakfast & lunch. DS rarely ate here. It was a real treat, when he did. I ate leftovers for lunch & don't eat breakfast. We got takeout more often than we cooked. Now, everything all 3 of us eat is prepared at home. I'm embarrassed to admit that it's been hard to get used to. Putting together a grocery list for 2 weeks at a time has been much harder than it should be. DH always shopped one day at a time. I always forget a few things & order too much of others. :sad2:

Well, back when I was ordering they didn't have every day delivery to my area. So I was getting meals delivered on Thursday, I think and I felt like they needed to be cooked up over the weekend. Pre-pandemic that didn't really fit my schedule. I cook Sun-Thur. I really just wanted a Monday delivery. Oh and my delivery came twice around 7PM so I was expecting something earlier in the day and that foiled my meal plans. I ended up cancelling because I just couldn't get it exactly when I wanted it. Now during this pandemic, I've thought about restarting because it doesn't matter when it comes.

I did prefer EveryPlate over Hello Fresh and Blue Apron. I just preferred the simplicity of it over the others and the meals all had a widespread appeal.

Ah, that makes sense. I had no idea they didn't deliver any day you chose. At the moment, we're cooking every meal, so it wouldn't matter. We also never eat before 8:00. Most of the time it's much later, so delivery time wouldn't matter. When things go back to normal, being limited to Thursday delivery probably wouldn't work for us either.

I think they have expanded their delivery days since I did it. Back in March, I was looking at re-starting and I noticed more delivery option days. Delivery dates also have a lot to do with what area you live in and how "infiltrated" the service is in your area. I think some areas got 3-4 days of delivery choices and I had a choice of 1 or 2 days at that time.

Thanks. I'm going to look into it more this weekend.

Another question.... I see EveryPlate currently has 11 meals to choose from. How often do they change the menu? I'd be more interested, if they change it weekly or at least bi-weekly. Thanks to a post here I was expecting a lot of potatoes, but I didn't expect so many wedges & fries. Is it common for half of the meals to include one of those every week?

Every week changes and I would say about every 4 weeks things repeat

For the Box I just set up there is 1 mashed potato, and 2 with potato wedges

Thanks for the feedback. The masked potatoes looked good. I'm just not sure how many potato wedges we can handle in a week.
