Do any of you go out to eat for Easter?

This is our first holiday without my Dad (it's 7 1/2 weeks since he passed :sad1: ) and Mom and I have decided that we want to go out for dinner. It's now just my aunt & uncle and mom and I (my grandmother is not speaking to us...that's a whole other story :rolleyes2 ) so we decided we don't want to just sit and stare at the 4 of us...

Do you eat out?

We usually do but it's only because my son and I are very picky eaters. My mom makes the traditional big ham and I despise ham as does ds. So dh, ds and I usually grab dinner at applebee's or something. We're not "big" on easter anyways.

I can't remember if I ever have or not...but I certainly would if the mood struck me.

We usually do go to brunch most years at a local hotel, but this year husband wants to stay home and cook. We will see how that goes. :rotfl:

We've gone out the last 5-6 years. Because someone is usually traveling so that the family can celebrate Easter together, eating out means that we have more time to visit and less to clean up!

We have done both, and have enjoyed both. One year we went out for a nice brunch - which was a lot of fun.

This year we are going away for the weekend, and will be traveling home on Sunday. So it looks like McDonald's for us (are they even open?).

Yes we're going out to eat Saturday night for our Easter meal. It's so much easier

I wish. The family prefers to go through the motions though and then to complain about doing all the work :rolleyes2
Under your circumstances, I think its an excellent idea. Sorry for your loss and I wish you a pleasant Easter.

Thank you. And, to you as well :wave2:

We are going out for Easter dinner. We have a small family (just six of us) and it is easier. I did Thanksgiving and my sister-in-law did Christmas. We decided to go out for Easter. My son is home from college for a few days and I don't want to spend my days off getting ready for company on Sunday. Now, we will all have a few days off for total relaxation :cool1: .

We'll be dining at home BUT we're having burgers & brats on the grill. No traditional Easter grub here. I don't think it's where you are but who you're with on the holiday!

We are this year! So much easier. My sister and her husband stay with us over the weekend and I cook a meal on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is my day OFF!

We will go to DH's mothers that night.

So sorry for your loss. It is hard to know what to do with these holidays when one is missing a loved family member.

My Mom passed away unexpectedly over xmas week, so this is a first holiday for us w/o her, tool.My Dad has decided to make a ham (with my brothers help) and we are all bringing a dish to pass. There will be 14 of us.

On Mother's Day coming up, we are going out to eat. It is my DD's college graduation that day. Mixed emotions everywhere, I guess.
