Do any of the restaurants at the parks/resorts have a dress code?

Yes. Citrico's requests collared shirts for men, no tank tops or cut offs.

CG requests no tank tops or cut offs.

Shulas requests business casual.

The upstairs French restuarnt in Epcot also has a dress code, although I don't know what it is.

I was given information by the AKL concierge that Artists Point has the same dress code as CG, however that might have changed recently.

Will you be turned away if you show up in shorts and a t-shirt? No. But most people tend to cleanup and change after a hot day in the parks before dining at one of the more upscale restaurants. It's just more comfortable to not feel sweaty and sticky. I prefer to dress to fit the elegance of a restaurant. The more elegant it is, the more dresesed up I'll get.

Nope. When we ate there last month the code was still "resort casual". When I pressed the CM for a little more detail they said "As long as you're not in a swimsuit or tank top you should be fine." But as you said, whether they would refuse you service if you disregarded the code is another question.

I know tank tops are not okay at the restaurants mentioned but how bout if I'm wearing a tank top with a short sleeve or sleeveless buttondown shirt over it but not buttoned up? I think you know what I'm talking about. I plan on wearing tank tops in the parks and might not have time to go change so I plan on bringing a button down with me in my backpack.

When I'm eating at one of the nicer restaurants like those mentioned in this thread, I make the time to go back to my resort to shower and change before heading out to dinner.

I like to feel fresh while enjoyed a scrumptious meal, rather than having my legs sticking to the seat. I also don't want to take the chance of offending anyone with a "ripe" odor after being out in the hot sun all day.

We've made a routine out of it. We leave the parks mid-afternoon, and go back to the resort. We take a nap or swim, then have some wine and cheese while showering and dressing for dinner. Throws a whole new twist on relaxing--isn't that what vacation is supposed to be about?

If that is what you are comfortable with, then go for it. Not everyones schedule allows for them to return to their hotel room for a shower and change of clothes. Besides, your time is yours to do with what you want, isn't THAT what vacation is all about?

As Jeffemy said, you'll be fine. The restaurant really won't care what's under your shirt.

Everyone does their vacations differently and you should do what works for you. You'd be well within the guidelines of those restaurants that request no tank tops.

As for Artist Point...definitely resort casual, very resort casual. At least it was last December.

Lots of us post to "Can I...?" threads with "What I do is..." responses. There's nothing wrong with that, no matter who the poster is or how popular (or unpopular) her method may be.

FWIW, I do the same thing ducklite does, because I don't like to go to dinner feeling all "skoogie" from a day in the parks. But even if I thought she was loonier than a toon for taking the time to do so, there is still no reason for her not to post about it.

Having spent lots of time at the Lounge at WL during our 4 stays there, we have been able to observe folks coming and going to Artisit's Point.
You see the entire spectrum of attire,from polos and nice shorts(in hot months) to dresses and slacks. Don't think I've ever seen a sports coat and cocktail dress clad couple..that would be too fancy for this casual "outdoorsy" resort,in my opinion.

I believe lots of folks go from a park directly to a nearby resort to dine, as travel from resort to resort is time consuming .



I also can not imagine restaurant located INSIDE a theme park (Epcot-France) being able to actually enfoce a dress code.

If it were the only restaurant available, I could possibly see your point. But when there are *numerous* other dining options - both counter service and sit-down - I don't see why it's an issue.

Of course, it's probably just me, but it seems to me that the insinuation is that if I don't go back to my resort and shower and change clothes then I'm going to the restaurant all "skoogie" and stinking.

I think most of us have the common sense to shower when we smell. For those that don't, telling them won't help.

So is it safe to assume that as long as I'm not in daisy dukes and a tube top and my hubby2b isn't in his faded nascar muscle shirt we'll be ok in pretty much all restaurants? (V&A excluded of course)

In reality, you probably don't have to even rise above that! Well, except for V&A's... for that one you'll need to drag out the old prom dress and dust if off.

Citrico's requests a collared shirt for gentlemen, and Shula's requests "business casual". So I guess it depends on what you are wearing to the parks.
