do any DISerrs go on Cruise Critic? What about trip reviews?

I read both boards and posted a trip report on our river cruise last August. I don't bother reading the DCL section---I doubt I'd take another DCL trip (last one was 10/2012--on the Fantasy and was a GAWD awful cruise). I do find the posters on CC a bit opinionated:goodvibes

If you think there's a hullabaloo on the DIS re: FP+, you should read all the posts when a cruise line changes their policy about bringing booze onboard:rolleyes1. It's hysterical.

Another person that reads both. Even have the same username.
I am on here probably 90% to 10% CC.
CC & Tripadvisor are very helpful when planning private excursions.
The Roll Calls have been extremely weak on our last 2 Disney cruises.
Our NCL cruise we had several events including a meet and greet lunch with the captain and officers!

There was quite a "hullabaloo" on the DIS when DCL briefly changed their policy about bringing booze oboard! You'd have thought DCL was bringing back Prohibition! :rotfl2:

I spend a lot of time at Cruise Critic. Their Disney board is slow moving compared to the DIS, but I have gotten a lot of useful information about other cruise lines. Their ports of call boards are excellent, and I usually post on the roll call threads for my upcoming cruises. ETA: I don't need the kind of nitty gritty details about other ships that people on the DIS seem to want about Disney ships!
See I need the nitty gritty details about the ships. For port adventures or excursions I'm fine with whatever the cruise line offers. I pick them and then learn about how they are for kids. It's all I care about at this stage. I'm not into building my own excursion but I think CC is great for that.

Pretty much this. I don't need to know every little detail, but a general understanding is nice. And since I have to be on HAL for the Alaska Running Cruise, I need to have basic information.

I poured over the RCI section on CC before our Thanksgiving Allure cruise. Getting details wasn't as easy. I too find the vibe over there a bit different. On the whole I find Disboards to be moderately tightly wound...but CC I find much tighter. I post with slight caution here. I'm much less comfortable posting there. Neither of these boards are my primary go-to but both have useful info so I'm around just not as fully involved/invested as I am on my "home" forum.

I've written detailed trip reports for every trip I've been on (parks & cruise) since January 2009. They aren't posted here, tho. I won't post the same report to multiple forums because it seems redundant and comes off to me as kinda an attention grab. If I'm going to post a trip report I feel most comfortable placing them where I started.

Disboards & CC are great sources for info. I've enjoyed both immensely.

Hi Kelly! So what is your "go to" site? I'm actually thinking about an RCCL cruise next summer to see the Norwegian fjords for my 40th. I've got my fingers crossed I'll be able to swing the B2B fjords/Baltic with Disney, but I'm not holding my breath. I like the price of the 11-night Arctic Circle on RCCL but I'm having a hard time finding many reviews.

I'd love to know too!

Hey girl! I hear ya! Doing the big 4-0 this year myself. We're hitting up DL for the 1st time in late April/early May. I think I cruised myself out last year with 5 cruises (4 were DCL). Still have at least 1 cruise this year in the fall but I could take or leave it honestly. At this point the only reason I'm still booked on it is because my old man insists I have that getaway with friends. ;)

Ooohhh...I dream of seeing the Baltics & fiords. I will someday. Hope it all works out & you get to go!

I wasn't going to even bother looking at the DCL pricing for the Baltics. I think they'll release high. After sailing RCI I realize Disney isn't the only line that does cruising well. I love me some Mickey but it doesn't make much sense to me to pay a premium for a port intensive itinerary. If I'm gonna be in ports a bunch I think I'd be happier spending more in the ports. If I'm going to be on the ship more, spend more on the ship. :)

I'll PM ya. Its my understanding its bad form to present "the competition" publicly. Don't wanna step on toes and get flamed. Or demerits or whatever the big punishment is. LOL!

CC is the best place to get info on Ports of Call and excursions. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a cruise.

I love DIS for DCL and WDW info but I did use CC a lot before my February Wonder cruise for port of call information. There is some great information on CC especially if you want to do your own excursions.

I love my 2 message boards, the DIS and CC! CC stands for cruise critic. Anybody else obsessed with the 2 message boards?

I did a detailed, pictures heavy review of our family Mediterranean cruise. I posted it on CC, you can see it here if you are interested:

Do people on the DIS cruising board ever do trip reports like the one I did?

Just wondering so I know in the future for a Disney cruise :)

Thanks for posting the link to your trip report! I have heard of CC but haven't spent much time there. Until now, reading your report. We are doing the 12 nt Disney Med this summer so many of the ports are the same. Your report is amazing. Thanks for sharing. I'm just at the glass auction - and ended up crying while reading it. What wonderful family memories!

I'm on both boards and I tend to find that where DCL is concerned, most of the information posted on CC has already been posted on the DIS. Other cruise line boards on CC seem to have more detailed info than DCL. For information regarding a DCL cruise, the Disboards can't be beat. CC, however, is excellent for port of call information if you are looking for things to do on your own in port.

I usually read both boards also. When reading CC I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting all the info I had gotten 4 years ago while cruising DCL.:scratchin Someone posted an answer to one of my questions and mentioned Disboards. The light came on and I came back. I have a different name on here than before because I couldn't remember my sign in after 4 years and was too impatient to jump through hoops to get it. Thanks Bear (I think).

Would you mind sending me in a PM other forums you like too? When I have a trip planned I get into the type A need yo read everything mode :)
