Do any adults ever order off the children’s menu?

I was wondering if any adults have ever ordered off the children’s menu. I was looking at the different menus and I like really simple things. So do you think it would be awkward if I choose something from the kid’s menu?

honestly, yes, I encourage my kids to try to eat off the adults menu, try different things, and if they don't like it, they can always get mac and cheese or chicken fingers.

On our last cruise one of our tablemates ordered off of the kids menu. He ordered the chicken strips which are out of this world!

While I've never been on a Disney cruise (yet), Disney in general is very accomodating to people with simple tastes in food. I've been in many Disney World restaurants and seen adults ordering stuff from the kid's menu, and were never told "no".

Just my $.02, but if you like something on the kid's menu, order it. You paid to have a nice time, and if it's what you want, then do it :) . No sense in ordering something you don't like.

One night I ordered the kids' "Mickey shaped" ravioli, as an appetizer. LOL It tasted ok, wasn't seasoned very much, but it was FUN to eat them! :teeth:

The servers won't even blink an eye if you want to order from the kids menu :)

Edited to add picture of the above-mentioned Mickey ravioli:

Because of health issues during our last cruise in January, my DW did order off the children's menu one night.

They will let you order anything they serve. It's not like a regular restaurant, where they often frown upon adults ordering the cheaper kid's meals. Order one of everything on the children's menu if you want!

Years ago after watching our son devour a Mickey Bar for desert, we have one family member (46) who now gets one for himself after every dinner! Most wait staff will simply bring it at the end of the meal when the others are having coffee. Although watching most Americans grow more and more obese every decade might give him pause, he swam over 1,000 miles last year so could certainly use the extra calories.

Just as an FYI, if you ask, room service will also bring you one to your cabin 24/7.

One word of warning--do be cautious with developing a Mickey Bar addiction—once you go back to the parks, they are not included with the price of admission.

I did not care for their soups on the adult menu so if I had a taste for soup, I ordered the chicken noodle off the kids menu. Not the greatest but it did fill a void.

Glad to know I'm not the only one wondering about this. I glanced at the menus online and thought there would be times I'd prefer for the kids to eat off the adult menu, and there may be times where hubby or I would just like the chicken tenders.

you've already prepaid for all of your meals - so order what YOU want to eat, regardless of what menu it comes off of.

One other tip though - if you don't like what's on the adult menu, and the other restaurants have different menus that night, you can order from another restaurant's menu. DH did that with the maple glazed salmon. If he knew it was being served somewhere else that night, he'd order it.

Spoken like a former Mickey Baraholic. Hope you stay on the wagon!

Order what you want! It is your vacation! I am a picky eater - so I understand how you feel.

Our table had a few orders of Mickey bars over the course of the 10 days, myself included. :mickeybar

:wave2: I will also be ordering from the kids menu. I love the simple food too. We will be taking our first Disney cruise this year. In the past dining in Walt Disney World and on the Carnival Triumph, never had a problem ordering off the kids menu. The servers were eager too accommodate me. I would tip for an adult portion. The only place where I was told "no" was at the Cellier Steakhouse in Canada World Showcase at Epcot. I was shocked.

Enjoy the food that you like!!! You won't be the only one! :cheer2:

I ordered the Mickey Pasta with marinara for lunch one day. Like someone else said, it's fun to eat, but not seasoned very much, which is what you would expect from a children's menu. My husband ordered dessert off the kids' menu a few times.

At our Character Breakfast, I ordered the childrens' breakfast because I wanted the Mickey ::MickeyMo Waffle - it looks VERY cute in my scrapbook :jester:!

I did! One night mozzarella sticks were on the children's menu, but NOT the adult's menu  I ordered them, and they were delicious!

On the flip side, my DS ordered cheesecake off the adult menu EVERY night! Have fun!

Yeah there was a great melon dish one of the kids had for an appetizer. But that was the only case where something was more appetizing on the childs menu the whole week.

I am somewhat of a picky eater....but sometimes I'd rather have the things on the kids menu.... :mickeybar

My DH was a little embarassed last time we went and I asked for the kid menu (but our DD wasn't with us).... By the third night our waiter brought one without me asking....On the last night I had everyone else jealous when I ordered the Mickey pasta and the Mozzarella sticks. ( i think our whole table ordered mozz sticks that night)

I also like some of the things in the kids buffet line at BBB....(cheese sticks, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken tenders, CORN DOGS.....)

On our last trip they tried to tell us we couldn't go though the kids line but I told them but we are kids..... :teeth:
