Do all rides with a height requirement do a rider/child switch?

I hope so!!! My son is just 44" tall, so tall enough for most MK rides, but there is NO WAY IN HELL that he'll go on either Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain ... We're bringing a stroller for him, so I may just have him sit in it when we get the rider switch and hopefully the cast member won't ask to measure him or anything.

Some rides may allow you to swap at the loading area if your son is tall enough but too scared to ride - you'll all go through the line together, then one of you waits at the loading area with your son while the other rides; when the first rider gets back, the adult who waited gets to ride without having to wait in line again. If the CM at the line entrance won't give you a rider swap, ask if this is an option.

You could also just get FP+ for yourself and your DH for these rides; if the first person rides towards the beginning of the return window, they should have no problem riding and getting back in time for the second person to ride before the window closes. That way your son also won't have to wait in line for rides he won't ride.

My son also has mild SPD... I wasn't considering a DAS card because it isn't intense, but noises scare him and that is another reason why he won't go on some rides.

If the cast members won't allow us to do rider swap, then we won't ride. Such is life.

It seems to be an ongoing argument as to whether a child too tall to ride qualifies for rider switch. I won't argue it, but we've done it several times and were never questioned and never measured. My grandson is very tall. At under 2, he qualified for rides we did not want him on. We were never given any problems. This year, at 3, he's tall enough for TOT. He is not riding it and we will get a rider switch pass. I hold them to their stated rules- if the rule is wrong, that's not my problem. It doesn't require arguing or getting upset or making a scene. But I'm confident we won't have a problem as we never have before. Others are free to do what they want of course.

That said, of all he qualifies for, I think TOT is the only one we're ruling out. We're considering no splash mountain but depends on how he handles everything else.

And the what? What if they still say no? Is it worth it to stand there and argue?

nope- not to me. but someone else may decide its worth it. Just giving it as an option to someone if they choose to. Have a nice day
