DVC has made it pretty clear that if you want connecting studios you need to make a request. That doesn't mean that the room assigner will be able to get you two connecting rooms on the day of your check in.

Maybe it's just me, but I really do not see how it's fairly likely....If so, that does make it fairly likely you will get two connecting. So if you book 2 Poly studios and you want them connecting, that is a request, correct?
In answer to your title question, yes every pvb studio connects to a second studio. In a traditional lodging situation where a hotel/motel has an average occupancy rate of 75-80 % then it generally isn't that difficult to have two connecting rooms available to meet the requests that come in. However, DVC has traditionally a higher occupancy rate. While it would be helpful if the room assigners were able to check an incoming guests exit date and assign them to a room that joins another guest leaving on that same date, that would also help to meet the requests for adjoining rooms. What complicates everything, though is all the other requests for specific room numbers, sections, etc. The CMs do the best they can to make magic happen on our vacations, sometimes I don't think we give them the appreciation they deserve.
There are 360 studios at the Poly. Is it really going to be that difficult for the room assigner to try to match up check-out dates for any two connecting studios? Honestly, it should be trivial for them to be able to honor 10-15 connecting studio requests on any given day.
That's an average of 55 rooms checking out every day. You don't think they could coordinate two of those being next to each other?I would think it could be very difficult to manage. I also think if you gtd connecting the number of requests would be extremely high.
