Hi all,
I am planning a summer trip to Disney this year and want to maximize our stay so we are flying in a day before resort check in and flying out a day after check out. We are staying at Hyatt at the airport both times. I have a good grip on how to use DME on the way in but I have a question about the day we leave. I am planning on leaving my bags with bell service at resort on check out day and then spending a full day at the parks returning to resort later that evening for a DME bus to the airport. How late will DME pick up at a resort? Is it possible to schedule them for 10/11pm? Or must it be tied to a flight which would make the latest we could stay closer to 7/8pm because of the 3 hours before flight rule? How much in advance must DME be scheduled for a pickup? Do we just call their # and schedule a pick up? TIA for any information about this.

It appears based on what I have tried it has to be tied to a flight.. and the last flights leave much earlier then 11 PM.

DME must be reserved 24 hours in advance.

DME runs 24/7. No need for flight info, just tell them what time you want to go from the airport to the resort at the start of your stay and what time you want to go from the resort to the airport on the last day.

Just note that you won't be able to take advantage of the luggage service either way - you'll have to take your bags on the bus with you.

Thanks for the info. FYI there are flights that leave at 11pm or later. Today there is a Jet Blue flight that departs MCO at 11:20pm. Worst case I will just put in for the latest possible flight at that time and take whatever that is if there is no other option.

Thanks OKW Lover! That is great info! I was hoping to be able to do something like that. Nice and simple!

But that's an international flight which suggests a DME pickup of around 7:20.

I agree with the PP, to a point. Call DME explain what you want and ask for the latest pickup. DME doesn't literally run 24/7. It runs, as necessary, to accommodate flight schedules. I don't think you can ask for (and get) a 1a pickup. People who've asked have been able to get later pickups then you'd think, based on flight schedules.

Thanks for the great info everyone. I will call a few days before checking out and ask for the latest pickup and take whatever that is.

This is not what I have been told on the return (and i have tried a couple of times) It's tied to flights. Once the flights stop leaving they stop scheduling trips back to MCO.

Good Luck getting them to give you a special trip, but I have never been able to convince them to do it. (I have always just wound up renting a car for the last day :) )

Just wanted to add that there are flights leaving MCO well after 11:00 pm.

How are you able to use DME for the beginning of your trip? I just found out that we have to change arrival days and have to get a hotel one night. I really want to use DME and am so afraid it is not going to happen now. Taxis are expensive and I am not liking the rental car fees.

It's not the end of the world if you have to plan on being back at your resort at 7 PM to catch an 8 PM Magical Express bus back to the airport in time for a 11 PM flight you will not be taking.

Book your DME reservation to Disney for your resort check in date. Have in mind a flight, any flight, any airline arriving at about the time you expect to be back at the airport to go to the welcoming area. The DME reservationist may or may not ask for that. Going to Disney, your DME reservation time does not have to be accurate.

Not really. The last domestic flight leaving today is Delta 8936 (IND) which leaves at 10:30p There are a couple of 11:30p international flights. Either way your DME pickup will be around 7:30p. (3 hour domestic 4 hour international). Next flight will be around 6a.
