Dme Transport To Airport

I have been reading that DME transportation to the airport has been taking about 2 hours. Has this been true for everybody? Has anybody had trouble getting through security or catching their flights?

a friend of mine just arrived today and ME was great for them. They walked right on the bus and there were 5 other people on it, they left right away and were at CBR within the hour of landing.

You must make return trip reservations and sometimes this is done when you arrive at the ME welcoming area at MCO to start your vacation.

ME scheduling plans a one hour trip and tries to get you to the airport 2 hours before your flight to try to avoid a last minute anxious rush to check in and go through security.

Usually you are scheduled to leave the resort 3 hours before your homebound flight time. You should ask for 4 hours in advance for international or charter flights or if you want to grab a bite to eat at the airport. You should not ask for a later bus time and if ME catches it they will disallow it.

We were picked up about 2 and three quarter hours before our flight on our trip in October. We didn't have any problems making the flight at all, and that included the long lines in security. If ME has all your flight information, they will put a letter on your door the day before your departure telling you where to go to catch the bus and what time they will be picking you up. You'll also need your return trip vouchers, so make sure to have them handy when you go to board the bus. The driver then asks who is flying what airline, and they make stops accordingly. It's really a pretty efficient system.

We didn't have a problem catching our flight, but we got on a slightly sooner bus than had origianally planned. Also, to answer your question, yes it did almost take 2 hours to get to the airport. We were the first resort out of four to load the bus. By the time all four resorts got people and luggage loaded and the drive to the airport, it was 1 hour 45 minutes. We got dropped off at the first terminal. If you will be getting off at the second terminal they stop at, it would take even longer.

Again, we didn't have problem with catching the flight, but I was a little nervous. When we arrived at MCO we saw very long lines at security. I guess we were lucky that the lines were short on our trip home.

Even if you are the first of 4 pickups you should be at the airport in 60 to 75 mins on avg.

I have taken DME back to the airport three times now, and it has not taken more than an hour from my resort (and that was bcs the driver had trouble loading my DS's wheelchair - apparently hadn't had much training on the lift). The longest was about an hour; we were picked up at BW (myslef and DS in wheelchair), fussed a bit loading him in, 4 more got on the bus, then off to POR, picked up 42 more, then off to airport.

I imagine if you have more than one other stop or you hit traffic it could take more than an hour, but in the three times we did it, it was under an hour.
