DME to MCO the day before checkout

I want to get a rental car part way through my stay at Disney. I would like to use the DME to the airport on the day before I check out.

From what I gathered from other posts is that this can be done. The question is How?

When I call to set up a return date/time, they obviously look at my hotel reservation to make sure I am staying at a Disney hotel on the return date. Won't they balk if I am trying to set up DME to the airport on the day before I check out of the hotel?

Guests are permitted to take Magical Express back to the airport before checkout day. To make the reservation process go more smoothly, call on or before the morning before the day you want to take DME, and also have in mind a flight, any flight, any airline leaving MCO 3 hours after the time you want to board the DME bus. The DME reservations CM may or may not ask for the flight number.

Another choice (may save a lot of time) is to rent a car at Disney. There are rental counters at a few resorts and also a large rental station south southwest of Magic Kingdom across from Richard Petty Driving Experience. You can walk to the latter from the far reaches of the MK parking lot (TTC area). Or you can request a shuttle from your resort.

No, DME doesn't really care when or why your going to the airport only that you are a registered guest on the day of travel and have an advance reservation.

Each guest gets one r/t with DME so as long as it is during your stay its fine. Call DME directly to make a reservation without a flight rather than reservations. If you have any trouble call back with a dummy flight departing about 3 hours after you want to leave the resort.
