We are arriving at MCO at 5:50 on a Saturday evening. We are planing on using DME to get to the CR. We would like to set up ADR at Ohana's at the Poly around 8:30 or so.

My question is how long should we plan on it taking us to get from MCO to the CR? Would an 8:30 ADR be possible??

Thanks

You have to factor in getting off the plane, walking to the DME, checking in at the DME desk and waiting for the bus and the 30 minute commute. Then you have to arrive at your resort, take a boat to the Poly. I would allow at least a good 2 hours after landing so the 8:30 ADR might be cutting it close.

I think 8:30 is cutting it entirely too close.

Plane lands at 5:50

Figure it'll take 15 minutes after landing to clear the plane and get to the ME counter. It's now 6:05

You may get on a bus that leaves immediately. Or you could be waiting in line for 30 minutes. It's now 6:35

You get on the bus. It takes you 45 minutes to get dropped off at your resort. It's now 7:20

Assume check-in will take 10 minutes. It's 7:30.

If you left straight from check-in and went to your ADR, it would be possible... but honestly why stress yourself out like that?

A long as your plane is on time (big IF). You should be fine. You are allowing more than 2 1/2 hours. I'd only be concerned about a late arriving flight.

The average time for DME is 70-90 minutes from when you walk off the plane until you're walking into your resort. This is assuming you are not getting your own bags. So, landing at 5:50, you should be walking in to CR 7-7:30p. Check in should take 10-20 minutes depending on whether you have a line. Let's say you're done at check in by 7:45. 15 minutes to Poly, and you arrive there at 8. That leaves you 30 minutes. Plenty of time, right?

Now, what if your plane is late? What if there's a long line at DME or CR checkin? What if the monorail is broken. Isn't O'hana a "pay in advance" one (could be wrong)? I wouldn't chance that.

If it was me, I'd try to walk up at one of the CR's restaurants or the QS. I wouldn't chance a missed ADR. There's too many variables. You're fine as long as everything works as it should.

I took ME to CR last year in March.

We had to wait 20 min on the bus before we left.

Then, we stopped at (can't remember the order) GF, Poly, and WL before going to the Contemporary. It was quite a long journey.

I wouldn't cut it as close as you are. You very well could make it, but if anything goes wrong, you could be stuck. Just my opinion.
