DME Reservations Problems as a Result of New Resort System

Yesterday, we received our DME booklet :dance3:

However, when I went through it, DS1 did not have a voucher :scared1:

As I do not think he would enjoy waiting at MCO while the rest of the family went on to WDW, I called DME...

Apparently, with the new system, children 2 and under do not always download into the DME reservation system correctly. She was able to see him "off to the side" (whatever that means) on the reservation, but he was not on the actual reservation.

She was able to put him on the DME reservation, and is sending a new booklet for me.

She was very clear that I COULD use the yellow tags I received, but I MUST use the new booklet she was sending me. She said that ALL passengers need a voucher in order to ride, because infants count towards the max number of passengers, and the vouchers is how they keep track of number of passengers.

I'm sure it could have been worked out if I arrived at MCO without this phone call, but it may have been a small hastle.

So, if you have a child 2 and under, and don't get a DME voucher for them, call DME to have them correct it!

On the way to Disney they will print replacment vouchers at the DME welcoming area when you get there.

A child or simultaneously arriving junior* will not be detained at the airport for lack of a DME voucher nor will a parent be detained to accompany him. But if a child previously unknown to Disney causes the room person count to be exceeded, you will have to fix that when you arrive at the resort, which could possibly require booking another room.

Don't worry about the going home part until you get there. Often the going home part will be finaized at the welcoming area when you first get there but you need to verify that the confirmation you get morning before checkout is correct. If you did not get that confirmation or it is wrong, go get it corrected at the resort front desk before heading off to the parks that day before checkout.

If you use a yellow tag out of a booklet, bring that booklet with you.

* Ages 10-17, who must use Ages 10+ aka adult tickets.

I had the same problem with our trip in early January -- only they dropped me, the lead, off of the DME reservations. When our DME booklet showed up in December they had my two children on it but not me. I called and they corrected the error and sent out a new booklet.

The explanation I was given was the same one you were given. That sometimes with the new system the information does not download correctly into the DME system. I just thought it was really strange that the lead person on the resort reservation was the one who was dropped off of the DME reservation.

All in all it wasn't a big deal and it was a quick and easy fix. We received on new DME booklet about 5 days later.

Thank you for the additional info!

But I'm glad I called: I'd rather get a new booklet than to have to stop at the DME desk, instead of just getting on line!
