I know Delta is one of the participating carriers for DME, but are their Connection Carriers included? Delta no longer flies nonstop from Dallas, but apparently they have a Delta connection carrier (Chautauqua Airlines) that does. I can book a flight with them through Delta for ALOT less than American Airlines, which is the only other airline that flies nonstop to MCO from DFW (except for Airtran). Right now I can get a ticket for the Delta connection carrier for about $250.00 compared to $680.00 at American Airlines.

Also does anyone know anything about Chautauqua Airlines. The plane is a little Embraer 145, which holds only about 50 people.

I'm pretty sure it works this way:

If you would check baggage at the Delta counter, you may check the baggage at your resort on the way home. If you would have to go to the Chautauqua counter to check in and check baggage, you would have to take the baggage with you to the ME bus.

Going to Disney there is no difference, you can use the yellow baggage tags even if you connect to a different airline.

I'm not sure how many DISBOARD members are familiar with Chautauqua Airlines. I agree with seashore CM but would also suggest you ask at the DME resort check in desk when you get to your hotel. Show them your itinerary and ask if they'll be able to check you in on your departure day.

Chautauqua Airlines (RP) is it's own airline, however, there's really no way to book directly with RP. You'd have to book a flight through one of their partners (if I recall correctly, Delta (DL), USAir (US), American (AA) and United (UA)), and then they'd assign a DL/US/AA/UA flight number to your flight, it's just that the flight would be operated by RP. I would THINK that since you'd have a DL flight number, you could use the resort airline check in, but not 100% sure.

The Embraer 145 is a small plane, and a lot of people think of it as a very uncomfortable plane. It IS a jet, rather than a turboprop, although that really doesn't mean much from a comfort perspective. Personally, I'm not a fan of any of the EMB-145 sized planes. Too short, too narrow, and the windows are set too low on the plane, when compared with the seats.
