DME question

Hi all,

My parents and I will be staying at the BCV this January and are planning on taking advantage of Magical Express for the first time.

My dad is listed on the reservation, but is leaving WDW a day earlier than my mom and me-- can he take advantage of DME by himself that day even though my mom and I will also need to take DME the next day? Or does Disney only allow that all guests travel together each way (i.e. only two one-way trips allowed)?

Just wondering whether or not we will need to arrange for a car to take him to the airport instead so that we can use DME on our last day... hope this makes sense!

Thanks in advance for any information you can offer. :)

Won't be a problem. My dh is always leaving WDW before dd and I do!! Just be sure that DME has his departure info...that way they can get him on the appropriate bus. You can do this either at the airport, when you checkin for DME, or at your resort when you arrive there.

Hint: He should get his written confirmation of Magical Express bus time on the morning of the day before the day he will leave, making any needed corrections down at the front desk at that time.

And, of course, the rest of you should get your confirmation on the morning of the day before the day you will (check out and) leave, similarly making any needed corrections down at the front desk before heading for the parks.

Will do- thanks! As it turns out, he may want to take a cab anyway since his flight is relatively early and he may not want to have to leave 3 hrs ahead of time. We will definitely be taking it both ways, though, and will be sure to confirm!

One question, though-- we booked our reservation through Dave's DVC Rentals, so he is technically responsible for sharing our flight information with the resort. Once we are checked in to the resort, will we have full autonomy to verify DME reservations, make any appropriate changes, etc?

Thanks again!

The travel agency or person you booked through should be booking your Magical Express trip to Disney but if he does not then you should try to do it yourself, call toll free 866-599-0951.

I'm not sure when you are permitted to do this (10 days in advance? 7 days in advance? 72 hours in advance? 48 hours in advance?) but if it gets close and you don't have a written confirmation from your booking agent, then call DME.

Once there you can make or change the DME trip back to the airport on your own.
