Right now my flight will get me into Orland at 9:45 PM. Will DME pick up my bag or do I need to get it since it is not 10PM yet? I just don't want the hassel with the bag if I can help it.

I think the advice that's been given on the boards in the past is that if you don't believe your luggage will arrive at baggage claim by 10:00 (when the yellow tag bag grabbers leave), you should go to baggage claim to pick up your bags. I think you can still tag them in case your flight arrives early (ha!), but my understanding is that they are supposed to put your bags on the belt if it's after 10:00. Even if your flight lands at 9:45, your bags might not get off until 10:00.

Thanks Sandi I guess I was hoping for the better. Will just get a cart and load the bags on it and go to DME. What I do after I get to POP is another issue. If I can get them to deliver the bags to my room so I don't have lug them myself.

Pop doesn't have a bell service like the moderate and deluxe resorts. They have what is called "luggage assistance" but I believe the hours are somewhat limited. I was able to borrow a cart from luggage assistance to cart our stuff to our room. (I think I left a credit card impression or signed something that said I understood the cart was worth a million dollars so I'd bring it right back.) I borrowed it to lug one of the DIS refrigerators from a fellow Diser's room to my room.

If you really don't want to haul your luggage, it seems like you could store your bags with luggage assistance and ask that they deliver them to your room the next day. I've never asked for that, but it seems like a reasonable request.

Have a nice stay at Pop. It's one of our favorite resorts.

Edited to add: Whoops, I just noticed that you've stayed at Pop before, so you probably knew all that. Oh, well. Maybe someone else will benefit.

Gee thanks Sandi did not know about the cart. That would be a great help. This is my first time arriving late. I got a good fare on my flight that is why I choose arriving late otherwise I travel to arrive in the morning as a rule. I'm transferring to POR after 2 nights but I know they will do the transfer of my bags so no problem there. DId the split to cut down on the cost also.
Thanks Again

If you go to the carousels too early then you will never see yellow tagged baggage because the DME folks grab it behind the carousel or grab it before it gets to the main terminal.

Until something more precise is published, do it this way:
1. If you get off the tram in the main terminal after 10 PM, go to the carousel. File a baggage claim if you don't find your baggage and have to leave emptyhanded.
2. If you get off the tram in the main terminal before 10 PM, go directly to the DME welcoming area. Expect DME to handle the baggage although it might not arrive before the next morning.
