DME question - not the usual

Hi All,

Back after quite a few years.

We're heading to WDW in December. My husband and I arrive on a Saturday and are renting a car.

On Tuesday, my sister and nieces arrive (sister and a teen and a tween). We're thinking of having them take DME so we don't have to schlep out to the airport during what would normally be dinner time.

They are good with that.

So the question. They're planning to take a flight that arrives around 9pm, and we are staying at the AKL (Kidani). What stop on the bus is that likely to be?

Also, I think that if it turns out that they are the last stop, can she call us and have us drive to the first stop and have them get out there? (Remember we'll have a car, and be done with dinner by then). Would that save them time?

If they can do that, would the driver let them know what the first stop is?

Thanks all!

There's no guarantee on what resorts (or in what order) DME busses stop at. It's too dependent on where guests need to go.

As for your other question, I think it's worth asking the bus driver as they're boarding, but whether they get the information... ??

However, I doubt picking them up at an earlier resort would save much time. They'd have to get off the bus, get their luggage, walk to your car, load the luggage, load the people, then drive to AKL. You might save 15 minutes, maybe.

Keep in mind if their flight lands at 9PM, they likely won't be at ANY Disney resort until after 10PM.

I wouldn't bother- even if it was me you were picking I think I would just rather chill on the bus and only move my bags once. I will probably seem ungrateful but unloading bags/carryon kids etc. from the bus - and then into a rental to drive some more would probably not be worth it.

They would also have to tell the driver esp if they have baggage as the driver puts it in bins based on the order of resort drop offs !

My sister and brother in law arrived at BLT a few days after us and we greeted them with a hug, help with the bags and then her favorite beverage on ice as well as a nice snack.

There is really no way of knowing, in advance, what stop a particular resort will be. The difference between the first and last stop is only about 15 mins, maybe 20 if there are 4 stops.
Are they tagging their bags, or are they getting them at baggage claim. If they tag the bags, that will save them 15+ mins right there. Of course, the bags won't get to them until close to midnight..but they can be held until the morning if you wish.

Thanks all, for the replies. As of now, they are planning to tag all but one bag - they'll carry that on so they'll have the stuff they need for the night.
