The FAQ's say it's 'about 3 hours prior to departure'. I'm trying to figure out what I can plan prior to getting picked up.

When they say 'about 3 hours', what's the usual range? Is it sometimes more than 3 hours and if so, up to how much? Also, about how early is it recommended to be there waiting (10-15 minutes prior?)

Yes it is 3 hrs before flight give or take 5-10 minutes.

They recommend you be there 10 minutes before pick up time.

It is 3 hours, give or take. Please factor in your check in time because the time that is given to you is the departure time. I found that out the hard way. Plan on getting to the DME bus stop 15 minutes earlier than the time on your DME slip. The bus rolls out on time, and waits for no one. one of pour little ones got sick a few minutes before departure and holy commotion!!! The driver waited, but we flew!

I am 12 days out from my trip and called DME about a week ago to make sure they had my correct flight info. They told me on that call to expect my bus to arrive at the Poly at approximately 10:40am for my 1:30pm flight.

It also depends on your resort. If you're the first stop, you'll be more than 3 hours earlier.

My experience has been up to 15 minutes on either side of 3 hours (or 4 hours if international). And, like others have noted, they ask that you are there and ready to go 15 minutes before your appointed time. In theory, the bus leaves at the time they give you. Sort of like a train departure time. You can do a lot with a morning at one of the parks. We typically get our checked bags to RAC really early, stow our carry-ons with the resort, and then head for the parks.

I try to be there 15 mins early because you just never know and as pp stated they wait for no one. One trip our bus was about 10 mins early and the last trip it was at 5 mins late.

And they have been know to actually leave the resort prior to the stated pickup time. For example P/U is 2:45 and it leaves at 2:40

Yes it is three hours. The amount of time allows them other hotel pick ups before heading to the airport.

Oh yes - it WILL be three hours :).

Now - something to remember - if you are a type "A" (we are) - our experience has been that the pickup buses often run a good 15 minutes LATE. DO be there at your pickup time - but if the pickup time + 15 minutes looks too "tight" for you? CALL - adjust your pickup time to fit your personal sense of security :).

Example: departure 5:00 PM. Scheduled pickup time: 2:00 PM. What will likely happen: 2:15 pickup. If that time frame bothers you in any way? You CAN CALL, and adjust pickup for the next earlier buss. Purely personal - but Sandy and I have been doing just this for about 10 years :). The three hour window, given certain Security Checkpoint conditions at MCO that varey, is not unreasonable.

Again, all personal opinion.
