DME or Private Pickup

Greetings all,

We are currently booked on DME for our Trip in June. Normally, we use DME but haven't been back since the new procedures (get your own luggage, etc.) have been put into effect. I always feel like we need to wait quite a bit after getting the DME bus for other people.

Do you prefer DME or private transportation? I'm contemplating booking a pickup from MCO to BWV. Anyone have a preference on which company (Mears, etc.)? If we use private transportation, can we still use DME for the return from BWV to MCO?

Thanks!

I normally use Tiffany Towncar for MCO to hotel, then Uber/Lyft for hotel back to MCO. I do this because I like the grocery store stop which is included on the way to the hotel. I also used FL Tours with no problems. I have not used Mears or Tony Hinds.

I have used many of the well known car service companies over the years in the 1990’s to present

did switch to Tony Hinds after he left to start his own company years back

it’s a smaller company and his staff has been with him for years

We used Tiffany Towncar for our trip last week. We usually go with DME. The driver was waiting at the luggage carousel and helped us with our luggage. He was very good and friendly. Pickup back to the airport was right on time. We will use them again in Nov instead of DME.

I think I'm going this route, thanks for the input!

I use DME because it's free, my arrival days are usually just going to Disney Springs or hanging at the resort so I'm never in a big rush to get on property. Getting your own bags won't make a difference between options now so it's just a function of price vs time.

^^ Same here. DME is free, someone else does the driving and no need to worry about parking when arriving. Once we arrive in the Orlando airport, we are on vacation, so it isn't some kind of race for us to see how fast we can get to Disney. Still have to get your own luggage regardless of which service you use. It was nice when Disney got our luggage for us, but no big deal since you walk by the baggage claim area as I recall on the way to the DME boarding area. You board the bus based on which resort you are going to and it never seemed like that long before the bus departed.

This why I'm "wavering" today. I just feel like the last time we were there we waited almost 45 mins for the bus to depart

Since that is a factor for you then a private ride would eliminate that potential wait.

We don't mind the wait while sitting on the bus. We like entering the "bubble" as soon as I pick up my luggage. That and free outweighs the inconvenience of waiting for me. And many times the wait on the bus isn't much more than 10 minutes. I do miss the luggage transfer.

It was me and an 8 and 5-year-old last time........ Maybe it felt like 45 minutes :D

We just got back from our trip and I will give a huge recommendation to Tiffany Town Car. So easy to book, they texted me a picture and name of my driver the day before we arrived and departed, They were earlier than they needed to be, kept in contact with us via text, cars were so comfortable and clean. They had us to our resort within 1/2 hr of us getting our bags. They will do a grocery stop but we didn't need one. They picked us up 2 hrs before departure and were at the airport again within 1/2 hr giving us plenty of time of 1 1/2 hrs before flight to check in and do security. The drivers were super friendly and knowledgable and a huge shout out to Eddie and Renata who were the best!
My husbands co-worker has been using them for fifteen years with no problems at all and she recommends them to anyone contemplating a private service.
After our experience this trip, we will never use a bus again, its Tiffany all the way!
