DME--Must pay in 2008???

My SIL is planning a Disney trip in Jan of 2008. She called yesterday to get tickets/confirm room pricing and they told her that she would not be able to do that until Sept of this year. In addition, when she wanted to add her flights to the room only reservation for the DME, they told her that it had not been decided if they would be charging for that next year????

Has anyone heard anything on this? Disney is expensive and I've always loved the idea that they offer the DME complimentary...Hope it doesn't change!

Yes there is another thread around here talking about it, actually that thread said it was going away, but as you stated everyone guessed that it probably wasnt going to be free anymore. It's not really a suprise if they do start charging for it. So long as they dont get silly with it, LOTS of people will still use it I'm sure. But with fuel prices and all the other costs involved it really makes sense.

It could be that since the 2008 hotel rates are not available as yet, they are unable to access the DME info as well.
