Hi,
We have some crazy reservations going on and our DME yellow tags came.

(crazy because we were playing around with dates and packages so we each had two reservations during the same week, one for one half of the week and then another one for the second. We did this because we were waiting for a day in between to open up. And we did that for my parents and my family so it's two seperate reservations....I hope that makes sense)

The weird thing is my Mom got 2 sets and I only got one set? What should we have if we are using the DME roundtrip?
OMG that must sound so confusing....

You should receive two yellow tags per person.

Back in August I received two separate packages with yellow tags, for a total of four yellow tags per person. When I looked closely at them I found that one set did not have my WDW reservation number on them, but instead some other number. I put the package with those yellow tags aside and used the second set that had my reservation number on them. We had no problem with DME during our trip of 9/22 - 9/30.

I suggest your mother double check her yellow tags to make sure they have accurate information, including her reservation number and the correct travel dates, especially since you indicate you had a change of dates.

So you ended up with tags you didn't even use? She said ours had a set with info and a set without? So let me just make sure I am clear. The one set is for coming and going??? Thanks. I will have her check them again.

There's no such thing as DME luggage tags for your trip home from WDW.

DME only handles luggage going from MCO to your resort. For the trip back home (resort to MCO), a service called Resort Airline Check-in (RAC) handles luggage for those lucky enough to be flying on a "participating airline."

So as you can see, there's no such thing as DME tags for the trip back home.

The yellow tags are only used for inbound travel — they route your bags to your room. Yellow tags are not used for the trip back home. So it doesn't matter if you're using DME one-way or roundtrip.

If you're switching hotels during your stay (or your stay involves two different reservation numbers), you need two Magical Express reservations — a one-way inbound and a one-way outbound. In that case, you'll get two Magical Express packets, each with yellow tags. You can throw away the yellow tags for the second rerservation.

So if I understand you guys right they get our luggage to our GF rooms after check in at OHare but then we have to get our bags back to the airport from GF to Orlando airport on our own? :confused3

Depends on who you are flying. See the sticky at the top of this forum on what particpating airline really means.

Definitely yes from home to your room at GF. From GF to MCO, it depends on the airline you're flying.

Every resort has a Resort Airline Check-in desk. People lucky enough to use a "participating airline" can get their luggage to that desk, and check it in for their flight (and also receive boarding passes) -- if they do that, the next time they'd see their luggage is on their home airport's baggage claim carousel.

Those who can't use Resort Airline Check-in, because they are NOT flying a "participating airline," must get their luggage to their DME bus. WHen the bus arrives, the driver will load the luggage under the bus, and then unload it at the airport so you can take your luggage to your airline's ticket counter to check it in there. Of course, you can get Bell Services to take your luggage from your room to the GF lobby, and you can get a skycap to get your luggage from the bus to the airline ticket counter, but those services are not part of DME (that is, you have to take those matters into your own hands, such as calling Bell Services and asking for assistance, finding a skycap and asking for assistance, etc.).

You guys are very helpful! We are flying United/Ted so I think we are in luck (according to Tyler's info)! :yay:
