My family and I leave for WDW 8/12. We have a split stay. Room only at ASMo 8/12, and then transfer to WL on 8/13-20(so I have 2 separate reservation/confirmation #'s.)

We received our DME travel booklet & tags and they say WL, 8/13/06. We're arriving on 8/12, and going to ASMo first - isn't that what our tags should say?

My TA made the arrangements and I went over the info with her twice. Can we just call DME to get things corrected?

TIA,
Colette

yes call the ME # in your package they will make a note in the system and you will be fine.

The Barcode is the only important thing every thing is based off of that.

But do call them.

Call Disney's Magical Express (DME) Guest Services at 866-599-0951. Have your flight information and both resort reservation numbers ready.

It seems that your TA made a roundtrip DME reservation for your 8/13-20 8/13-20 stay. Your TA should have made a one-way inbound DME reservation for your 8/12 ASMo stay and a one-way outbound DME reservation for your 8/13-20 WL stay.

The CM at DME Guest Services will be able to fix the DME reservations. I assume that there's still time for Disney to send a new DME packet with new yellow tags to you. Otherwise, ask the CM at DME Guest Services to advise you whether you should use the yellow tags that you already have or whether you should not use yellow tags and simply take your airline's checked bag receipts to the DME Welcome Center at MCO.

Yes, but the barcode is for the second reservation with a different check-in date. So DME Guest Services really needs to straighten this out.

You can save worrying about the homebound ME scheduling until after you get there.

If you don't get new yellow tags in time the old ones will work fine. Black out just the old resort name and write in the new resort name if needed. Be sure to bring the matching booklet with vouchers and stubs and the first night room reservation confirmation with you too.

When calling write down the name of the person you are talking to.

True. But the OP already has proper reservations for departure. The problem is with arrival.

My only concern is that the barcode on the old tags is tied to the second reservation (08/13/06), not the first reservation (8/12/06). So there's a chance that the guest would not see their bags until after they check in for the second reservation if they used those tags.

I think there's enough time to get new tags, with the barcode tied to the first reservation.

If using the old tags, I would recommend not only writing in the resort name for the first reservation, but also writing in the check-in date and crossing out the barcode. That way, Disney should handle the bags as though they didn't have yellow tags, with the old yellow tags simply serving to call attention to the bags.

You don't have to touch the tags unless they tell you to mark off the name.

When you call or at the Me desk they can update the info right there ( we did this as DNeice was coming later in the week) .As long as the Bar-code can be read it WILL track with what they have in the system reguardless of what is printed on the tag itself.

Writing in the correct resort name makes it easier for a CM in the baggage sorting area to do the right thing and more difficult for him to do the wrong thing in second guessing or "outsmarting" or overriding the system.

(not so late breaking news) Crossing out the bar code could cause the automated processes to not match your bags with your check in at the welcoming area.

Thank you all !!! :grouphug:

I am off to call DME now. I do hope it's plenty of time for new tags & transportation tickets (they also say 8/13 not 8/12).

I'll update and let everyone know what they advise.

Yes, the printed information on the tag, even including the resort name, can be wrong, as long as barcode ties back to the correct information in the system.

However, in the OP's case, there's nothing wrong with the resort hotel reservation information in the system. The OP has two consecutive resort reservations. The problem is that the OP has a roundtrip DME reservation for the second resort reservation — and no DME reservation for the first resort reservation. The OP should have two one-way DME reservations.

Unlike some cases, this isn't a simple matter of a discrepancy between what's printed in the packet and subsequent changes to a resort reservation or to airline flights.

Now, it might be possible for the current DME reservation to be switched to the first reservation (so that the current tags will be tied to the correct resort reservation and check-in date), and that DME Guest Services will set up a new reservation for the return trip. I'm sure DME Guest Services will know what to do.

Thanks again to all! I called DME. They fixed the DME arrival to match my room only ressie on 8/12. The CM said she was sending new tags with correct arrival hotel and date on them.

I appreciate all the help.

Colette
