DME: Can you disembark at the FIRST stop instead of YOUR resort?

I've taken DME about a half dozen times, to a different resort each time--but it almost never fails. My resort is almost always the last one!

In a couple weeks I will be headed down to run the Star Wars race. I plan to take the DME from MCO and immediately head to the Wide World of Sports complex to pick up my race packet.
For those of you not familiar with the races at Disney, there are special dedicated buses that take the race participants from each Disney resort, to the Wide World of Sports for the race expo to pick up our packets (the numbers for the front of our shirts, race t shirts, etc.)

I will be staying at CB. IF my pattern continues, and CB will be the last stop for DME, is it "ok" for me to just get off at which ever resort my DME stops at first and take the bus to WWoS? I will not have any carry on luggage.

Thanks!

Truthfully , I have never seem them actually check credentials for people getting off of the bus. I don't know why they would stop you and I cannot imagine the bus driver would even care. The only way I could see it being an issue is if you were the only person meant for your resort stop and he went for no reason.

Yes, if you don't have any luggage, go for it! I've done it before. No one cares where you get off. In all my DME trips, the driver has never made me prove I am getting off at "my" resort.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as you haven't had any luggage stowed beneath the bus.
Pop would be a terrific resort to get off at. It's the closest to ESPN. CBR isn't too far either. It's all in the luck of the draw.

Yes, it will be no problem.

Gulp. Does that mean you have all your running clothes and shoes in your checked bag?

I can't do that. My running clothes and shoes and shotbloks and water bottles and hats all go in my rollerbag.
Good point....but yeah...I guess I will be trusting that my checked luggage will make it there safe. Otherwise---how late is that Fit2Run store in Disney Springs open? ;)

Thank you everyone for the responses! :)

I have been on the DME bus when only 1 family gets off at a resort. The bus fills with people going to various resorts, the bus driver indicates what resorts he is going to, no matter what there is going to be a first stop. So it would make no difference where the poster gets off. There would be no need to let the bus driver know

The only time there would be a need is if the guest had bags underneath the bus. They sort those by resort when they stow them.

I did this when we visited my daughter who was doing the college program. We were going to stay at the contemporary and she had to work at a certain time so we had to get there before she had to go to MK. Sure enough, that was the last stop. So we hopped off at the Polynesian (first stop), grabbed our carry on under the bus, and got on the monorail. We did get there before the ME bus by about 5-10 minutes.

If you do not have anything stored under the bus, the bus driver does not care where you get off. When we were staying at BLT, the first stop was the Poly, to be followed by the GF, BLT and then VWL. We got off at the Poly & took the monorail over to the Contemporary. We were checked in and heading to our room at BLT by the time we saw our ME bus pull up. I'd do it again under the same circumstances.

how do you know which hotels share the me bus?
