According to the information on the uk disney dvd and the disneyuk web page. After you have collected your luggage from the first baggage claim disney collect it from the second one. Has anyone tried this?

Ive not used it yet, but will be in september. Ive had differing info on this, I work for disney here in the Uk, so called them, apprently all international arrivals have to collect their own luggage off the first and second carousel, and take it to the ME desk situated on the first floor.
BUT
on the internet it states that disney will collect it for you.

hopefully somebody will come along soon and clarify this

We used the ME earlier this year. We only picked our luggage up once, and after dropping it off again we headed to the ME desk. Before you travel you get labels to stick on your cases so they can identify those using the ME. When you get to the desk you give your details and tell them how many cases they will need to pick up. Then it's off to the coach and your hotel. Our cases didn't take that long to come - three or four hours, I think.

Can you pick your own luggage up and take it with you on the coach to make sure it arrives when you do?

Agree with the above - you pick it up from the first baggage collection point (as you need to take it through customs!) and when you drop it off again that's the last you see of it until you reach your hotel room :)

The exception to this I believe is if you fly into the USA via a different city, clear customs there and then catch another plane to MCO. In that instance I beleive the luggage gets checked straight through as long as you are using one of Disney's partners.

Crux - I can't see why not. When we did DME last year some folks had all their bags with them.

Thank you. We aren't using it this year - using TCD in Sunshine First for the second year running. We've used Virgin in previous years on a fly-drive, but the prices for Prem Econ were more than TCD SF - however Virgin becomes more competitive for flight only (we always stay on-site and hardly use the car), so this could be an option next year.

You will need to take you luggage with you to the DME check-in if your DME bag tags do not arrive in time, ours never arrived in time, also it can take a long time for your bags to arrive in your room(3 hours +), put things you need in your hand luggage. We travel with a wheelchair and I was left at OIA for 2 hours while the correct bus was called, eventhough DME knew I was coming!!!

you have to claim your bags before customs if flying direct into mco.Would then take them to next area without tags on as they can take up to 4 hour to reach you at resort would clam them at second carosel and go to the ME buss and bags will go with you.If you allready fllown into staes via anouther airport you dont do customs at mco its up to you if you want to put ME tags on and same again bags can take 4 hours to reach you.On ME tickets it says pack an overnight bag with your first night cloths and esentuals (toothbrush and sometimes next days cloths)
